Reviews mention

  • Sleek minimalist aesthetic design
  • Lightweight hard-shell construction
  • Smooth-rolling 360° wheels
  • Thoughtful interior compression system
  • Easily scuffed exterior surfaces
  • Occasional wobbly telescoping handle
  • Inconsistent zipper or mesh durability
  • Heavier, dent-prone aluminum shell

Away earns strong reviews for durable, lightweight polycarbonate and aluminum luggage that glides smoothly, packs efficiently with compression panels and a laundry bag, and is backed by responsive, often generous warranty service; however, reviews also flag easy exterior scuffing/dents, occasional zipper/handle/wheel issues, divisive or cumbersome battery compartments, and ubiquity that causes bag mix-ups. Overall, Away is good and works well for frequent travel, but buyers should expect cosmetic wear and consider darker colors or covers.

  • I wanted to not believe the hype on these suitcases because they are so expensive but after having the carry on size for over 5 years, I can say it is not only high quality but makes sense. I love how packing cubes fit in this on both sides and zip up, I feel like this is the perfect size for a 4 day trip, or perhaps a week if you're a diligent packer. The addition of the battery and charging port makes this a great asset to have in airports!

  • I've had my Away suitcase for 5 years and it's still in amazing condition! I travel 10-15 times a year and love love love the Bigger Carry-On for all types of trips. The Carry On is great for shorter trips (3-5 days) and the Medium is amazing for long trips (2.5-4 weeks). The customer service at Away is also incredible. The pad inside my suitcase got bent out of shape and they immediately sent me a new one. I'll be buying these suitcases for years to come!

  • I love these bags, I've had a few over the years -- they're durable, great looking and very roomy. The one thing I will say, is that I think my older bags are better quality builds than my newer ones. and, the older ones came with more accessories: a built in battery pack, a dust cover/bag, an accessory pouch, and international chargers -- the new ones don't come with any of that.

  • I bought my first Away suitcase in SF fairly soon after the company launched, and just recently the zipper broke. I took it into the store in Hayes Valley to see if they would repair the zipper and I figured it was a longshot given how many years I had it - but they replaced the entire bag! Unexpected and wonderful customer service that stands behind its products.

  • I purchased the three pink set a few years ago and unless you use a cover be prepared to quickly have a dingy pink set if you fly commercial often. The marks were hard to get out. The hard shell is nice but for the amount of money you can find much better travel products. I think they look cute but to me the quality didn’t match the price. The suitcase quality seemed to match that of a good TJ Max find.

  • I have had my AWAY luggage for over two years and it is one of the greatest investments, I recommend them to everyone. First of all, the design is so chic and I love how lightweight the luggage itself is. I studied abroad for 6 months and used the carry-on the entire time and it was perfect. The wheels run so smoothly and these suitcases last forever, and the lifetime warranty is amazing. I really want to get the medium suitcase to complete my set.

  • Absolutely love this brand. The suitcases are extremely durable, I flew around Europe and then traveled around Asia, and my suitcase lasted the whole trip. The design is also simplistic and cute with a variety of color options. They also have a 100-day return period if you are not satisfied with your luggage for any reason. This is dope because none of the other luggage brands has this option that sets your mind at ease.

  • I finally got my hands on an Away back last year and I am so impressed. I got the bigger carry-on flex. The first time I used it I was wowed by how smooth the wheels were. That was an insane improvement over my last suitcase. I also love the size and the ability to expand it.

  • Love this suitcase! The outside kindaaa seems cheap when you get it but this bad boy has lasted me yearsssss of travel and is still going strong.

  • This luggage has completely transformed the way I approach traveling with baggage. I adore the sophisticated and stylish design, and every feature appears to be meticulously planned. Opting for a white carry-on, I've taken it on numerous trips. Despite its light color, I've found it surprisingly easy to maintain and keep clean. My grip is the slightly loose and wonky handlebar. Fortunately, Away's impressive customer service came to the rescue! They gladly replaced my luggage with a brand-new one, even after 4 years since my initial purchase!

  • I love these suitcases. I bought a roller board and it is absolutely perfect, trendy yet sturdy and lightweight. I bought them for my kids as well. I plan on buying additional suitcases when needed.

  • I have been on 5 international trips with my Away luggages. Used on cobblestones, up hills. Still holding strong!

  • I love my Away suitcase and bought the larger carry on first and then months later bought a larger one as well! I love the different compartments, the charger, and the ease of wheeling. One downside is that the lighter color bags do show scuffing very clearly, so I'd recommend going for the emerald green (this is what I have and love), black or navy! Also, lots of other people have these so good to think about having a distinct luggage tag to differentiate yours in baggage

  • I got my Away suitcase back in 2018, so they might have changed some of the product since then. At the time, I absolutely loved my carry on, but after trying some brand since I just do not reach for my Away anymore. There is no give in the bag when trying to add some extra stuff, and my smallest carry-on size just does not fit as much as I wish it would. I will say the Away portable charger is the best- I bring that with me on every trip, usually while leaving the bag behind.

  • Away luggage is durable, light weight, and super easy to glide! Highly recommend for traveling especially you have to walk quite a lot with luggages. I have a few expensive Rimowa luggages but I don’t like to travel with them because they are so heavy and easily scratched. Away luggages deliver the same high quality function without the bleeding price tag, and it’s much more light weight which is friendly to seniors and children as well. They have a great no question asked return / exchange policy as well. Highly recommend it!

  • Affordable and good looking bags. Only issue is I've had the zipper break twice now. Both times, customer service has been slow (although they ultimately replaced the bag).

  • We recently purchased the carry on from away to replace an old suitcase. It is holding up well. I like the 4 wheels to make it easy to carry through the airport. We have never actually used the lock — we likely should but my guess is most haven’t. My one critique is that I really would like an exterior pocket. I recognize it won’t make it looks as sleek — but they are so practical to have and it is the reason I’ve hesitated to buy more suitcases from Away.
