  • I saw the book "a kids book about addiction" from afar at the library. Immediately, I was drawn to the cover/concept and wanted to see how they had framed such a difficult subject. Once we got over to the shelf I saw another one about mental health. I grabbed both of them and have read the books to my 4-year-old. Upon opening the book my kid asked why there were no pictures. I pointed out the little details of a red circle making its way across the pages, an infinity symbol in the word "loop" instead of double O's, and other engaging details like that. I appreciate that there are not pictures of something like this topic, I believe that with words, a child can imagine what is appropriate for their development, but images can skew that natural balance. This series will be my choice for tough topics. It was enough clarifying information to continue a conversation we've already had, and nothing too specific where you are feeling that you went too heavy

  • I LOVE THESE BOOKS and the way each one is created by an expert in their topic.
