Founders, Christina and Elena, set out to create a plant milk that lived up to its promise. After being disappointed by other plant based milks’ overly sweet taste, ingredients lists that were more chemistry than kitchen, and lack of real sustainable production processes, they were inspired to revisit their Grandmother Willa’s homemade, wholesome oat milk recipe.

Willa’s uses the whole entire oat, which means Willa's:

Willa's Oat Milk offers a clean, non-overpowering flavor, and works well for baking and cooking. It's also appreciated for its lack of unnecessary ingredients and its shelf stability. However, criticisms include its high price, the taste deemed not extraordinary, issues with dissolving properly in beverages, and a strong aftertaste. It also has a thinner consistency than other brands.

This is exactly what you want in an oat milk. A clearly clean flavor, not weighed down by an oily or gum-like presence. I was very pleasantly surprised as I have not experienced that with any other store bought oat milk. This is the one for me 

Not that great tasting but gets the job done

This is a shelf stable oat milk. I use oat milk exclusively in my homemade lattes. I add homemade syrup to the oat milk and steam it. So my review isn't really based on taste alone since I don't drink oat milk outside of this. This oat milk frothed up pretty nicely. It was a little thinner than some of the other brands I've used in the past, but it is free of unnecessary ingredients. Great choice for oat milk and not needing to refrigerate them prior to opening is a huge perk!

I really enjoyed the taste of this oat milk! I find other brands have a very toasty flavor that can overpower coffee but this didn't have that taste but was still creamy

Works great for all of my baking and cooking needs.  Very happy with this product.

I got the original flavor and it found it to be very "oaty", a lot more than other brands like Oatly or Chobani. I used it mostly for my tea and coffee and I found that it didnt dissolve that well even after shaking it a lot. Overall it seems just ok and for the cost I'm not sure that I would get it again since its smaller but more costly than a lot of brands. 

Most store bought Oat milks have fillers, stabilizers, and added fat for the creamy mouthfeel, making oat milk a highly processed food item. This yields more processed carbohydrates, added sugars and low amount of soluble fiber (good for cholesterol) and protein. In order to do that, the fever the ingredients in your oat milk, the better. There only a few on the market, that contain less than 4-5 ingredients, and are as whole food of an item as possible. Could Willa's fill that gap?

The ingredient that matters most in oat milk...wait for it...OATS! Where the oats are grown... organically, biodynamically, or with help of fertilizers and pesticides? Chemicals such as glyphosate (Round-up) have been found in cereal, including Cheerios. Therefore, we know how those oats were sowed! Willa's claims that they are glyphosate free. 

The original has only 4 ingredients - organic whole oats, water, organic real vanilla, sea salt. It is shelf stable prior to opening.

Unlike other oat milks, the color is closer to light beige than white. The mouth feel is simple and clean. It is not smooth and rich like other oat milks that have added oils in them. 

Added to coffee, depending on the coffee and it's acidity, Willa's does separate after 5 minutes. If used like a Latte, there is no separation. The cost was quite expensive at nearly $10 per carton. 

These are the reasons why I gave it a 4 instead of 5. 

This is a great choice when in a bind and you need an oat milk.  However, my general recommendation is to make your own non-dairy milk at home using a machine such as Nutr.  You control the ingredients, and there is less packaging waste. 


Tasty oat milk, but for the price point and amount you get for 1 carton - I feel like there are better brands out there that are more convenient, cheaper and I won’t have to buy them through Amazon 

Simple and delicious. I love that it's dark chocolate and doesn't feel too thick to sip. The perfect little night time treat or addition to a bowl of granola. 

I bought the dark chocolate to mix with some of my protein powders. I usually just use vanilla almond milk but wanted to try some of my chocolate based powders with something different and this was definitely worth it. I don’t drink milk or milk alternatives by themselves so I can’t speak to how it was on it’s own
