Reviews mention

  • Nostalgic, transportive signature scent
  • Lightweight, non-greasy formulas
  • Clever, conversation-starting packaging
  • Consistently effective sun protection
  • Overpowering fragrance for some
  • Small sizes deplete quickly
  • Inconsistent spray/nozzle mechanics
  • Leaky oil and packaging issues

Vacation earns strong reviews for making sunscreen genuinely enjoyable and effective, with lightweight formulas that blend cleanly, prevent burns, and deliver a nostalgic coconut-banana “summer” scent. Reviews also flag weaknesses: potent fragrance, small sizes that run out quickly, occasional packaging issues (leaky oil, finicky spray/whip mechanics), mixed experiences with mineral options and oil protection, and some users finding performance comparable to drugstore formulas.

  • I love the aesthetic of this brand—very chic bottle in a fun “brown paper bag.” It smells fantastic and goes on easily.

The sunscreen is a tad bit sticky.

  • Been wanting to try this brand for ages. It's such a great aesthetic and a fun, nostalgic smell. Absorbs pretty well with minimal need to rub in, and no stickiness remaining.

Would love to see some more innovative (easy to use, or sustainable) packaging

  • I loved this product! Big fan of everything Vacation does, but this one was especially nice. Lovely smell, easy to apply, and performed well :)

I don't know if this already exsists but would love a travel size so that I can bring it on a carry on.

  • Works well! Branding is on point and it smells like Vacation!

    Littttttle pricey

  • Honestly it was a normal sunscreen. Didn’t feel anything special about it except it smells nice

Maybe add powder spray to the product

  • I've been wanting to try Vacation's SPF products since I first learned of the brand last summer, and I'm happy to say that it did not disappoint. From the website experience and retro branding, to the product itself, I was very happy with the experience. I tried out their new Classic Spray, which is SPF 30 and comes in the signature scent that they've built their brand on so far. I have to admit that at first spray, I wasn't blown away by the scent: it was giving elevated Banana Boat vibes. After a few minutes, the scent settled and I was pleasantly surprised at how it warmed up on my skin. The initial artificially tropical scent gave way to a scent that is quite clean and fresh, and slightly warm, definitely not like any other sunscreen I've smelled before. The application itself was a quick process thanks to the nature of the aerosol-style spray bottle. I found it delivered an even, steady application of product with no issues, even when holding the can upside down. Reapplication was a breeze, and I felt confident that my skin was protected (no sunburns here!). The product itself absorbs much quicker than other SPFs I've used, and although there is a slight sheen after working it into the skin, it's not greasy or sticky. It's dry to the touch after just a few seconds.

My feedback re: improvements would be quicker shipping times! I had hoped to receive the product prior to going on a vacation to really test out the sun protection, but sadly it didn't arrive in time. To be fair, I ordered on launch day of this particular product, but I definitely plan to order the Chardonnay Oil and a backup of the spray, so hopefully shipping times improve with subsequent orders. Also, I would love to see a carryon-friendly size available in the future, perhaps even a travel bundle in a cute, beach-y pouch.

  • THE SMELL! IT'S AMAZING.

Give the mineral lotion the same smell as Classic.

  • This stuff smells so good. Literally, they sell an Eau de Parfum with their scent in it. Like, what sunscreen brand can claim that? Bonkers.

I think one of their ingredients is on the docket to be nixed in Hawaii. It's currently considered reef safe but not sure for how long.
