I really like the idea behind Tulip, and also think the lamp is very aesthetically pleasing and fits our home's vibe. I did however end up drilling the ring into the ceiling because it felt like it wouldn't stick well enough with just tape, which sort of is against the product's promise. I was slightly disappointed in that, but once we got it up I've loved the lamp and overall very happy, and would probably buy again from Tulip.

Pros: easy to install, brilliant concept for renters, does have screws for textured ceilings, and doesn’t hit my husband’s 6’7 head. Cons: you cannot exchange for a different shape or color if you install one and ultimately don’t like it, the “seam” up the side interrupting the design colors drives me crazy, and you have to steam it if the wrinkles for a “lantern” type look isn’t your thing. For the price, I’m torn. I think it could be worth it IF you’re sure enough on color and size/shape. I’m wishing I got the more subtle “drum” shape after installing the green “gem” shape, and I would exchange if it were possible. They’re magnetic and easily swapped, but my confidence in trying a different one and liking it is up in the air as of now!

Love the idea, love the designs, but really ran into some issues out here in Hawaii where all the ceilings are popcorn. Drilling was my only option and def came with some asbestos. Just kind of wished this was mentioned in the FAQ.

I love how easy it was to update a not-so-aesthetic light in my entry. It was also extremely easy to install. The one thing I will note is that this cover is a thicker material, so it dims the light significantly. Would love to see other options that perhaps let a bit more light through. I also wish instructions were included, or at the very least, a postcard with a QR code to a tutorial video. I ended up just googling it and finding a video on their website, but that part could have been a bit more seamless and thought-out.

I think Tulip provides a great solution to ugly light fixtures. I’ve never met anyone who loves a “boob light,” so it’s interesting that it’s taken this long for someone to come up with this. Installation was super easy—we have a textured ceiling so we used the screws instead of the command strips. That was a bit messy but we anticipated it and laid down a drop cloth. I love the way our play area now looks. The shade is a little wrinkly, and I don’t feel like figuring out how to steam it. I also wonder if it needs to be as pricey as it is. Lastly, I didn’t love the instructions were a QR code. It was hard to read on the phone. I would definitely recommend this when they’re on sale and I hope that other companies (maybe even Tulip) offer less expensive options in the future. Photos show a before and after.

What an innovative product! I see lighting as the most make-or-break aspect of creating a cozy, visually pleasing living environment. When you're a renter, obviously it can be challenging to deal with the hideous overhead lighting situations you're stuck with. Tulip is a great solution - the design I chose, Gem Fern, has a nice pop of color from the green piping but is still neutral enough to work in any space. The fabric is sturdy and high quality, though it definitely needs a quick steam for a more polished look prior to installation. While I'm impressed with the quality of the shade cover, I'm not sure it's worth the full price for everyone - it depends on how important the impact of the lighting in your space is to you.

We have one of those classic landlord special nipple ceiling lights in our bedroom. After living in our rental for four years, it was certainly time for an upgrade. The tulip looks so cute! We got one with "fern" trim since our room decor is very green friendly. I love the size and the drop on it and that it softens the light. Maybe we'll actually use the overhead now. I wish the green trim went all the way around the bottom (see photo), but honestly, I'll take it how it is.

I bought two Tulip lampshades for my new apartment, one for a bedroom and one for the bathroom. Both have worked great and were very easy to install. I'm grateful to have soft light instead of harsh overheading lighting with a quick fix!

The price is a little steep but Tulip is the only product of its kind on the market and the quality, ease of use and style is 100% worth it! I got one to cover the “boob light” in my hallway and loved it so much, that I recently ordered one for my bedroom ceiling as well. I love that with the magnets you can swap the covers around with ease. Also, super easy to take down for easier cleaning. The products are all flawless! I hope to see smaller and larger versions from them in the future.

Overall, really love the concept of this brand. We own our home, but I don't want to install a new light in certain places of our home. The product shipped quick. The install was super easy—you just apply the sticker tape to the frame and then position where you'd like it on the ceiling. I really liked that the fabric was magnetic to the frame so it felt very sturdy. I also really like the style of the shade I got (which was the drum). Overall would recommend. I gave it 4/5 stars because I do feel like the price point is very high for what it is. Not sure I would actually buy this if I wasn't receiving a discount.

Shockingly easy to install. Warms up our hallway so much. I don’t even feel like we really need to replace the light fixture underneath—the shade is just the look I wanted!

My wife and I have been searching for a solution to cover up a boob light in our bedroom and all the potential options would require hiring an electrician through our landlord. Too much effort and waste of money. The Tulip took less than 5 minutes to “install”, which is literally attaching the mount to the ceiling with command strips and then the shade attaches via magnets.. doesn’t get more simple than that. And the best part is we can take it down when we move out and into our next rental.

I underestimated what a massive difference lighting can make. Tulip gives you high-quality lighting, which would cost a fortune to do the old fashioned way (ie by installing dimming lights in the ceiling), for a fraction of the cost / time. Such a great product and solution to a common problem. Anyone with a boob light should buy this!
