Reviews mention

  • Creamy, indulgent texture
  • Inventive, nostalgic flavors
  • Ethical, transparent sourcing
  • Vibrant, giftable packaging
  • Thick, hard-to-break bars
  • Irregular, awkward segments
  • Some dark bars overly sweet
  • Occasional chalky texture

Tony’s Chocolonely earns strong reviews for rich, creamy chocolate and inventive flavors like Milk Caramel Sea Salt, Pretzel Toffee, and White Raspberry Popping Candy, while its fair-trade, anti-slavery mission resonates. Reviews also flag drawbacks: bars are very thick with irregular break lines that are hard to portion, some dark varieties run too sweet or chalky, and concerns appear about heavy metals in certain dark bars.

  • Amazing chocolate and mission. Love the unwrapping experience too!

    Feedback

Wish it was more widely available!

  • Super nice thick chocolate brand. Not too much sugar, has a good bite and smooth taste. The design and vision of this brand is wonderful and has some tasty variations.

    Feedback

Portioning this chocolate can be a bit complicated since they have a special design of the chocolate and some portions are huge when you break off pieces

  • the test us just good

    Feedback

the size is too big for me.

  • I love the. chunkiness of the bar. Knowing what the story and where the chocolate comes from is important and love how good these are too!

    Feedback

Like someone has said, the chocolate is note in squares and more in chunks. I can dig the kitzyness of it but would be awesome to have an option.

  • These bars are one of the main things I miss since going vegan. Their mission is the best, the chocolate is extremely rich and fulfilling, and the packaging design tells you everything you need to know while still being visually appealing.

    Feedback

It would be great to have a vegan milk chocolate bar from Tony's - possibly with soy milk as I know soy is used in their bars.

  • Seriously delicious. Love this chocolate and will always choose it when I can find it. The best packaging. No notes!

  • BEST CHOCOLATE ON THE MARKET! AND LOVE THE MISSION. There is no downside - all win win!! I ask for this for every special birthday/christmas/holiday - it's all I want and need in a treat!!

  • Love the high quality product and company mission.

    Feedback

Hate the design of the bars. It's hard to break off a piece, leaves crumbs everywhere and hard to portion control / get a uniform bite everytime.

  • I love the vision and purpose of Tony's Chocolonely. The taste and packaging is on point. They are my favourite because of the clean purpose they have.

    Feedback

I hope they will sell more in different cities. I rarely see them on stands and they deserve a good recognition.

  • I decided to try this chocolate after wandering through the candy aisle at target, and I am sooo happy I did! This has quickly become my favorite chocolate brand. I love the mission of the company, and the quality of the candy is unmatched! It is super delicious, the only problem is I eat it too quickly!

  • I loved the taste, I bought a lot around Halloween and my sisters and I loved them, 10/10 recommend. I love their mission too.

    Feedback

Honestly wouldn’t change much, the flavor was great, packaging was bright and cute and it wasn’t terribly expensive. Loved it.

  • My absolute favorite candy bar. It’s a good size and has a great mission.

  • Delicious chocolate that is a little expensive but completely worth the price. The variety of flavors, packaging, and design of the chocolate totally reflects the branding and makes it unique from other chocolates.

    Feedback

I do deeply enjoy this chocolate but would enjoy it more if there were more flavors for dark chocolate.

  • Such a cute, fun, TASTY, emotive brand. I love supporting Tony's Chocolonely, they the best. Love how they support farmers and the guys at the beginning of the chain.

    Feedback

The brick can be quite hard to break/bite into

  • Tony's have a wide offering of fun flavours. The chocolate itself is delicious and substantial, which justifies its price point.

    Feedback

It'd be good to see them make more of an effort with vegan options. I think that a large part of the audience they're targeting would be grateful for this!

  • I like different. I dislike generic. My favorite is the White Raspberry Popping Candy. I haven't had any flavor I haven't liked.

    Feedback

More unusual flavors would be welcomed!

  • Really like this chocolate and the different choices and the messages inside the packaging. It's smooth, not to sweet, but sweet enough and melts well.

  • I ordered via Gorillas and was excited about this new brand. Especially the outstanding design catched my interest.

    Feedback

The taste wasn’t extraordinary as the packaging. So I was disappointed and felt trapped. Won’t buy them again.

  • Differentiated chocolates for everyday consumption. Rare to eat this chocolate without having some conversation start about the bars or the company purpose. They do a good job on inclusions (the ingredients included in the bar) and the chocolate is reasonable quality. They are sweetness-forward so not everyone's taste profile.

    Feedback

The quality of the chocolate is below the average for the category and they index toward sweet and milk chocolate in a market that is trending to darker chocolate (and the perception that it is materially "better for you"). Their bar asymmetric format is unique and clever - that is definitely a strong differentiation they should maintain.

  • Love these chocolate bars and the way they're portioned out. These are my go-to for post-dinner sweets for a group. The company and its mission are amazing!
