Reviews mention

  • Creamy, luxurious mouthfeel chocolate
  • Inventive, memorable flavor lineup
  • Chunky, satisfying bar format
  • Ethical, mission-driven sourcing
  • Overly sweet chocolate profiles
  • Thick, hard-to-break pieces
  • Inconsistent caramel texture hardness
  • Limited higher-cacao dark options

Tony’s Chocolonely earns strong reviews for rich, creamy chocolate, inventive flavors like Milk Caramel Sea Salt, Dark Almond Sea Salt, and Dark Milk Pretzel Toffee, plus mission-driven, fair-trade sourcing. Reviews also flag drawbacks: some bars taste overly sweet or bland to dark‑chocolate loyalists, the thick, uneven pieces are hard to break and share, and concerns appear about heavy metals in certain dark varieties and salt intensity in caramel bars.

  • I brought a Tony's Chocolonely bar the other day after going to a small health store in town and the bar was great. The amazingly shaped bar is cut into different shapes and it’s very delicious when you open the package. It’s wrapped in gold foil and it gives the illusion that you are Charlie and you’ve just won a golden ticket. The texture of the bar is smooth, sweet and salty for the perfect snack.

  • Delicious chocolate but more on the expensive side of supermarket chocolate. I love the mission that they carry

  • I brought some chocolate to my parents site and we all agreed that It's good but not amazing. Worth trying it because tastes are like colors, but I'm not sure if I would repeat.

  • So good! The Nougat flavor is the best

  • Tastes nice. Would recommend for sure.

  • Very tasty, not too sweet The packaging is appealing

  • Fantastic chocolate. One of the best flavors is dark milk - but disappointed to see it removed from Whole Foods and now harder to find. The bars don’t have defined “squares”, so for those who like forced portion control this isn’t for them. But this brand is my favorite chocolate right now!

  • Worth the money! Great taste and many different options to try! Wouldnt change a thing.

  • I love the packing - so fun and colorful put together with the ethics behind it. Enjoying eating chocolate after all For my taste the bar is a bit chunky and the flavors sometimes veryyyy intense. I would love a ice cream from Tony’s!

  • I’ve tried nearly all of them, and they’re absolutely delicious. My only qualm is that the pieces break off very irregularly, so sometimes I break of a huge chunk and feel compelled to eat it all.

  • Ok, so if you haven't had the Salt Caramel (orange wrapper)- go try it now. I cannot NOT have it in the house- but it doesn't last long. SO GOOD

  • Always delicious, always hits the spot. Perfect for sharing with friends too

  • Tony’s is a very good chocolate brand !! I brought some for me , my mom , and siblings they all loved it !! They had different flavors and different kinds of chocolate and it’s was delicious.!

  • Super chunky and yummy chocolate. Definitely feels like a treat and my 8 year old nephew loves it too!

  • I thought Tony’s Chocoloney was great! I am always looking for healthier desserts that taste great and this one tasted awesome! Would recommend to anyone looking for chocolate!

  • I didn't like the taste or the texture. Since then I've researched chocolate in regards to fair trade, sustainability and humane work settings and care for the people. I found it has high lead content. Many other chocolate brands do too. Google metals in chocolate. Mast is 1st choice, then 5 others, like Ghirardelli...

  • Hallelujah the chocolate gods heard my prayers. Years ago, I could only find Tony's at my local CVS and they only had milk chocolate. After moving into a city, I discovered the Chocolate pretzel toffee and dark chocolate flavors and the world was never the same again. Gone are the days of Mars and Lindt...today begins a new era of actually enjoying the chocolate you eat and getting a HUGE bar of it. You certainly can't eat it all in one sitting but can certainly try during a movie; it makes a great snack! Best dark chocolate on the market. When I go to the hospital, stick an IV of Tony's Chocolonely in my vein.

  • I first discovered this chocolate in Amsterdam and loved the variety of flavours and smooth texture. The packaging is both eye-catching and informative of the incredible mission that the founder accomplishes with each bar sold. It’s on the pricier side at around $8 (in Australia) for a full bar but worth it for the interesting flavours (current fave is white chocolate with dried raspberries and popping candy!) and make an excellent gift or addition to a hamper!
