Reviews mention

  • Creamy, luxurious mouthfeel chocolate
  • Inventive, memorable flavor lineup
  • Chunky, satisfying bar format
  • Ethical, mission-driven sourcing
  • Overly sweet chocolate profiles
  • Thick, hard-to-break pieces
  • Inconsistent caramel texture hardness
  • Limited higher-cacao dark options

Tony’s Chocolonely earns strong reviews for rich, creamy chocolate, inventive flavors like Milk Caramel Sea Salt, Dark Almond Sea Salt, and Dark Milk Pretzel Toffee, plus mission-driven, fair-trade sourcing. Reviews also flag drawbacks: some bars taste overly sweet or bland to dark‑chocolate loyalists, the thick, uneven pieces are hard to break and share, and concerns appear about heavy metals in certain dark varieties and salt intensity in caramel bars.

  • Great tasting and good for the planet. Love what this company stands for! Equality is important! And they provide a great product.

  • This is some of the best chocolate that you can find in the US. I highly recommend it. The variety of flavors is also nice.

  • Loved this chocolate!!! I found them almost at every retailer I’ve been to and they’re the healthier alternative to compared to the competitors.

  • A wonderful chocolate experience. I love the taste and that it's fair trade! A true treat with great ingredients! I give these bars as gifts!

  • A really great quality inexpensive chocolate. Recommended to anyone looking to try a new brand of chocolate! Will definitely purchase again!

  • Super delish. Great mish.

  • My favourite chocolate! I love the flavours and the mission. The irregular bars mean you think about their message every time you eat it, and you often end up with a bit extra 🫣

  • I am not really a chocolate fan myself but this chocolate bar was delicious when you bite it and chew it . the reason it got a 4/5 instead of all 5 stars is because there was a strange after taste. it was almost bitter.

  • The most creamy, mouthwatering chocolate bar I’ve had the pleasure of tasting. There are so many varieties and flavor options but truly there is just something special about their milk chocolate.

  • The Ben & Jerry's of chocolate bars. Delicious product and delicious branding. Bar is broken into a vignette of chunks, making the eating experience playfully indulgent without any of the guilt.

  • I love good quality chocolate, so I was excited to try Tony’s, but it left me underwhelmed. I guess I’m looking for more than just a chocolate bar, I want fillings, unique flavors, and added “mix ins”

  • The product is delicious! Not only is the mission statement in line with my values but the product itself, packaging, and tasting experience is a delight.

  • I first found these randomly in a tjmaxx checkout line. And I love the tiny bit size and individually packaged bites. I’ve been buying more to have as quick snacks and using them in gift boxes and Easter baskets.

  • The best! Love the creamy texture and rich but not overpowering flavor. The milk chocolate sea salt is my favorite treat.

  • My brother bought me a bar for my last birthday and I LOVE it! Hooray for slavery free chocolate that is way yummier than the competition 😋

  • This is my favorite European chocolate. It is a good size, suitable for making a small and nice gift. This chocolate has Excellent quality.

  • I love this chocolate. It's such high quality and definitely underrated. My favorite is the hazelnut one but they all taste amazing!

  • This chocolate is GOOD. Like, REALLY good. I love their mission and think this is a high quality chocolate product. Is it slightly more than Hershey's? Yes. Does it taste 10x better? Most definitely! Would highly recommend for those looking for a new chocolate company to support.

  • I got the milk chocolate pretzel caramel bar. It was good. I’d buy it again. But don’t be expecting Belgian chocolate or Lindt. It was good, satisfied the craving.

  • There is no better chocolate taste-wise and once you have eaten this you will never eat Cadbury's again! Not least because reading the inside of the wrapper will confirm any suspicions you may have had that the big chocolate companies have been ripping off the third world for decades. Milk chocolate is divine but the nougat and sea salt versions are a close second!
