We're tea enthusiasts who want to share our love of tea and teaware with the world.

The Japanese word tezumi (手摘み), meaning 'hand-picked', is used to describe the select few tea leaves that have been carefully picked by hand in the traditional manner—resulting in higher grade tea when compared with machine picked leaves. We chose this name because we put the same care and patience in selecting our teaware.

We believe that tea tastes best when made with care and attention using utensils designed with one purpose in mind: to make delicious tea. Using well-crafted teaware turns the menial task of making tea into an enjoyable and relaxing experience. That is why we aim to share high-quality Japanese teaware with the world, and in doing so, spread the joy of making a delicious cup of tea.

The Kurotake Shin Chasen whips matcha into a delightful froth. This dark bamboo whisk is carefully crafted in the shin shape. Featuring roughly 64 tines, the chasen expertly balances thinness and thickness. The dark bamboo is a favorite within the Omotesenke school of tea ceremony. After use, rinse and allow the whisk to air dry to help maintain its shape and prevent mold.
