This Sulwhasoo serum is super lightweight and easy to use as a first step after cleansing. The texture is thin and spreads really easily across the skin, so you only need a small amount to cover your face. It absorbs quickly and layers nicely with the rest of a skincare routine without feeling sticky or heavy. One thing I did like was the scent. It has a noticeable herbal fragrance that smells pleasant and gives it a very “luxury skincare” vibe. However, the ingredient list includes a lot of perfuming ingredients, which feels unnecessary for a product meant to support the skin barrier. While the scent is nice, having so many fragrance components can be irritating for people with sensitive skin. Overall it’s easy to apply and feels expensive, but the heavy use of fragrance ingredients is definitely a downside.

This eye serum feels super luxe from the start. The scent is soft and herbal in a really pleasant way, making me feel like I’m in a spa. My favorite part is the packaging. I think it’s an innovative shape a bit different from other eye products, not to mention fun to apply. The texture is lightweight and absorbs quickly without feeling heavy under the eyes. It’s a nice overall experience though not life changing. But if you’re into that elevated skincare experience, this one is definitely a winner.

The first thing I noticed about Sulwhasoo’s First Care Activating Serum is the lightweight, gel-like texture that sinks into my skin almost instantly. It’s designed to be that first step in your skincare routine as soon as you finish cleansing your face and while it’s still damp. I haven’t encountered many skincare products in my lifetime that can be used across all types of skin types and made to enhance your existing skincare routine. I have dry skin and am hormonal acne prone. It’s important to find something that hydrates my skin enough but doesn’t clog pores and cause additional breakouts. I have found that this serum does check those boxes for me! I love that it pairs well with my current skincare routine and I don’t need to wait a period of time for it to sink into my skin before I can move onto the next step. I’m surprised how it is such a lightweight texture but still feels rich enough as if it’s doing something for my skin. No sticky, tacky or oily feeling. I have felt my skin looks dull, dry and particularly uneven due to dark spots and acne scars. I feel like this serum does help with the uneven appearance by looking more natural and healthy. It’s one of those products that isn’t screaming for attention but quietly in the background makes everything else better. I see why people like it and why it has such a loyal following. I am going to keep using especially in the cooler months this fall and winter!

I’m not sure if this seeps deeper or makes me serums adhere better or not. I love the ginseng cream. It’s lovely and fresh. The activating serum, I’m on maybe the third mini bottle and nothing astounding yet. Maybe consistency is key.

This serum is so amazing! The packaging reminds me of early Shiseido. This is a mighty product and am seeing results in my overall completion in less than a month. The actual serum is an unusual color at first sight. There is an initial astringent scent/feel but that disappears immediately on application. It is wonderfully light and leaves no trace. I put it on right after washing & before additional skincare or other products.
