Sol de Janeiro earns largely positive reviews for intoxicating, tropical-gourmand scents and fast-absorbing, non-greasy textures—fans of Bum Bum Cream, Cheirosa ’62/’68, and body mists report soft, smooth skin and frequent compliments. However, reviews also cite inconsistent moisturization and firming results, some overly strong or headache-inducing fragrances with limited longevity on certain products, and repeated complaints about high pricing.

I think they simply might be too “gourmand” of a scent profile to me, but I did enjoy the sample of the body butter. Not enough to repurchase at full size at full price, however, and the mist I finished although gifted to me by a friend.
