  • I am an architect and interior designer with decades of focus on luxury residential design. My wife and I have a 2 yr old Sixpenny Neva sectional sofa with slipcovers in their beautiful washed cotton linen in blanched almond. The material has held up terribly. In only 2 years of moderate use, it has worn out and now has multiple abrasion holes on the seating surfaces from very mild usage (2 adults, no kids or pets) in only 2 years. The fabric is absolutely stunning when new but should not have been offered as a choice by Sixpenny. The fabric is simply too delicate to be spec'd for seating and that is their fault. It is shameful that a $4,000 couch lasted only 2 years before needing new slipcovers. We are very very troubled by this situation as we have (as design professionals) recommended Sixpenny to both friends and clients and have a number of their sofas in our two homes (our other sofas are covered in Sixpenny's heavier cotton twill canvas and are holding up, but the more expensive linen covered sofa is a true disaster. We are awaiting to her back from Sixpenny and will revise this review if they assist in correcting this failure.

  • After eyeing Sixpenny’s sofas for a number of years, I finally bit the bullet and purchased the Neva sofa with a bench cushion during their sale last fall. I’ve had a wonderful experience. It took a few months to arrive, but that’s pretty standard right now. I cannot stress enough how cozy this sofa is or how gorgeous it is. It’s also super easy to clean. I appreciate their emphasis on sustainability and fair wages. While not cheap, their products are priced fairly. If you have trouble how the colors will look in your space as they’re shown against taupe backgrounds, they’ll send you photos of the colors IRL. They also make exchanging your slipcover super easy if you decide the color you order isn’t right when it comes. That swap is provided free of charge and you don’t have to return the whole couch. Customer service is truly wonderful.

It’s a little frustrating that the sofa colors are photographed against colored walls/backgrounds. This makes it hard to get a real sense of the color online. I recommend you show against white in future shoots.

  • I've had the Elias L-shaped Sectional for about 2 years. The sofa is GORGEOUS, but it has not held up as well as I expected for the price. The down in seat cushions and pillows has fallen quite flat, so it requires a ton of re-shaping. I was prepared to consistently fluff and clean the sofa, but having pillows totally lose their shape has been disappointing. It also means it's generally less comfortable than it was at the beginning. Of course, this makes sense, but I anticipated getting at least 5 good years out of it.

  • I was actually buying one second hand and reached out to them about fixing it/new upholstery and the customer service was great. The piece I ended up getting was really good quality.
