Simulate earns largely positive reviews for plant-based “Nuggs” that convincingly mimic fast‑food chicken nuggets—especially the Spicy variety—delivering crisp breading, satisfying texture, and strong crowd‑pleasing appeal across vegans and omnivores. Reviews also flag weaknesses: occasional dryness or blandness in the original flavor, inconsistent interior texture (spongy or too soft), highly processed ingredients, and reliance on air‑frying for best results, making it a great nostalgic fix but not universally loved.

tastes like real chicken definitely, but flavor isn't totally there (get the spicy ones)
Didn't enjoy the flavor but I am also a vegetarian that doesn't particularly fancy meat
Really tasty! It is similar in texture and taste to chicken nuggets.

I think the spicy Nuggs could be spicier.
Oh my goodness I love these. With a little sauce they taste just like chicken nuggets (: Perfect easy lunch or late-night snack. SO yummy, and reasonable priced.

When shipped they come in very bulky packaging in order to stay cold. When buying in store, sometimes the packaging gets soggy from the freezer condensation before I'm even home /:
I liked the shape of the nugget and the texture. Heated up just fine. I tried the original nuggs.
Feedback
I tried the first iteration (or early recipe) of the original nuggs. I found them very peppery tasting, but I believe the flavor has changed since I purchased online. Love that they are available in some stores now.

I really like the taste of these

We didn’t find these tasty even though we wanted to. The breading was good but the inside was a bit dry and flavorless. We prefer other brands but didn’t hate them.

I have tried nearly every vegan nugget under the sun and these are pretty solid. Not a huge fan of the “meat” texture, but the breading is quite good. Definitely need to have some sauces with these, they’re a great vehicle for sauce

I’ve only tried the regular (not a spicy foods gal), but I really enjoyed them! Great texture, excellent flavor, and easy to make. Definitely better in the air fryer.

Nuggs are quite good, but they're incredibly expensive and not as many per box as other brands of a similar product. so I often look to those alternate versions, because outside of aesthetic packaging and branding there is really no major difference in the product I've found.

I'd like to qualify my rating with the following: this is relative to my being someone who does consume meat, including chicken, and the fact that Simulate's website copy describes their product as "indistinguishable". These are...not indistinguishable from "real" chicken nuggets. At least for me. The flavor wasn't particularly enjoyable, nor was the texture. I might not have been so let down if these were simply marketed as their own thing, so to speak...then again, I think I would have; I think there are better options out there. But, to suggest that they rival my dear, sacred, tasty, comforting chicken-nuggie? Oh, no, I don't think so. I love that we live in a world where these types of options are being developed and are available, so one point on the board for innovation, at the very least. I might even try another product by this brand to get some more plant-based experience under my belt. Here's hoping that these hit the spot for someone else.

The spicy nuggs are my favorite plant based nuggets. They are so good. My husband hates most plant based chicken but he likes these and one other brand. The tenders were a bit weird though. They’re really soft on the inside

I tried the spicy nugget. 1. The box cover and brand name are not appealing . 2. This tastes like rubbery nothing. 3. This is a copy of Loma Linda brand Vegetable Skalops I had as a child. 4. It has zero spicy taste or flavor.

Today the word "Spicy" means something. This product is not spicy. Either change the product to actually be spicy or remove the word from the packaging.

yum! very tasty and had a good texture and similarity to regular chicken (from what I can remember, it's been year's since I've eaten meat). one of the best vegetarian nuggets i've had, but i think gardien is still the best brand

These literally feel like you’re eating real chicken which is amazing if that’s what you’re looking for, but as a person with chronic disease, I found some ingredients to be inflammatory. Great alternative if you’re a vegan that misses the feeing of some nuggs dipped in ketchup.

So far the best faux chicken nuggets I've tasted.

Cute options for kids.

I LOVE THIS STUFF! Such a great midnight snack, or even after a long day when you don't want to make dinner pop a few in the air fryer with a salad - I always have some in the freezer and am happy to have watched this brand grow from ordering online from them to seeing them all over stores now.

Definitely a great substitute for traditional chicken nuggets as far as texture and taste! Love buying the spicy option and pairing it with my favorite sauces. Will continue to buy it as an easy meal for a college student (can add to so many different recipes)

The price per volume is more on the expensive side so not ideal for someone on a budget.

These tasted genuinely good! I also think they took the same amount of effort as cooking tysons chicken nuggets, so it didn't feel like a hassel. The spicy one was >> than the regular option.

I think this just takes up a lot of space. I wish it could fit in my freezer in an easier way.

These are the best plant-based nuggets and products. I don't think any other brand compares.
