Reviews mention

  • Convincing chickenlike flavor profile
  • Crispy, satisfying breaded coating
  • Crowd‑pleasing, omnivore‑approved nuggets
  • Spicy variety with robust kick
  • Occasionally dry interior texture
  • Original flavor sometimes bland
  • Highly processed ingredient list
  • Inconsistent, spongy interior texture

Simulate earns largely positive reviews for plant-based “Nuggs” that convincingly mimic fast‑food chicken nuggets—especially the Spicy variety—delivering crisp breading, satisfying texture, and strong crowd‑pleasing appeal across vegans and omnivores. Reviews also flag weaknesses: occasional dryness or blandness in the original flavor, inconsistent interior texture (spongy or too soft), highly processed ingredients, and reliance on air‑frying for best results, making it a great nostalgic fix but not universally loved.

  • so disappointing! packaging is well-done, in theory it should be great, but texturally these did not work for me. gardein and trader joes brand are cheaper and better imo!

recipe could use some major tweaking

  • Spicy was definitely the right choice. I bought both but I loved how spicy the spicy versions were. I baked them in the oven but it might be better if you could air fry them. I was excited about them but weeks later they were called out for not paying the creator enough for their market assets. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I wish they were a little jucier or plumper I understand though it is difficult to replicate the chicken fat texture. They are a little too dense and flat.

  • I developed an allergy to poultry a few years ago and am always trying different alternative meats. The nuggets satisfied my craving for chicken without causing my throat to swell!! That's a win for me.

  • I enjoyed these nuggets, and I am someone who doesn’t really like nuggets! The product was great, but not for me, hence a score of 3. They resemble the consistency and flavor of authentic nuggets, and they’re delicious when freshly baked. From what I remember of animal-based nuggets, these have a fast food vibe to them. I have tried both the original and the spicy, and they are quite good. The spicy nuggets pack quite a kick, but without much flavor, which I would critique. While they are a bit expensive, I buy them when they are on sale, and they always satisfy me and my boyfriend, who eats meat but couldn’t tell the difference.

  • As a vegetarian of 10+ years I was certainly interested in Simulate's plant-based chicken nuggets. The taste and texture are very nice, although I cannot necessarily speak to the realism of them compared with actual chicken. They are a great option for busy days as they are made quickly and without much cleanup. I would definitely recommend making them in an air fryer on parchment paper for maximum crispiness with minimal cleanup!

  • These nuggets are real deal. I’ve had them a few times and I’m always skeptical about the price point but they are well worth it. I’ve done just about every cooking method they offer and they shine every time. Tastes like nostalgic McDonald’s style chicken nuggets, feels better in your body. Super fun to eat.

  • These veggie nuggets are good, but not my favorite. While I did love the coating (very reminiscent of McDonalds nuggets) I though the inside texture and taste left something to be desired. Tasty with a good dipping sauce, but not a stand out for chicken nugget substitutes.

  • Nuggs taste great but they're so so expensive. Not sure I'd buy them again for only that reason.

  • I was really excited to try these chicken nuggets but the flavour was not good unfortunately. I do like the packaging however

  • These are my least favorite plant based nuggets.I was so excited to try these & I did not get the “chicken” taste or feel.I’ve had other brands that came way closer & actually tasted like chicken & had that chicken texture.I did give these a shot twice.Once in the regular & then in the spicy.I was not a fan of either one unfortunately. However their customer service is great! I had to speak to a rep about a subscription & it was handled quickly!

  • They taste exactly like chicken nuggets, which is exactly what you want in a product like this. Cook up easy and don’t have a weird texture. Would buy again. Only gripe I have is price. I’m not committed to the brand because it’s so expensive for a package of them.

  • I LOVE LOVE Nuggs. They do not taste like fake meat, they have great texture and great seasoning. I purchased multiple boxes and they were gone really quickly. My wife isn't the biggest fan of plant based meats and I even found her snacking on these willingly. 10/10 recommend!

I cannot recommend this brand enough. Loved the texture and taste which are the main qualities I am looking for in a plant based food. They are also protein packed so they are super filling.

  • They are alright but they have a weirder texture than a normal nugget. They were a little expensive as well.

    needs to be cheaper.

  • These feel closer to real nugs than the impossible nuggets. They're not as soft in texture! I would highly recommend!

  • I am autistic and have a lot of food sensitivities and I discovered these nuggets(spicy and non) a few years ago during the height of the pandemic. I have eaten these consistently weekly since then. They cook up well, don’t have peas which I am allergic to(this is really common in vegan nuggets) and I am just smitten for them.

  • The spicy nuggets were an impulse buy that really impressed and surprised!

    Feedback

I love the product, hate the name and imagery--and I'm an omnivore!

  • Adooorable packaging. Tastes like vegan chicken but the texture is slightly better than most other brands so you can pretend it's real meat with sauce.

    Feedback

Nuggs sauce would be interesting as an inclusion!

  • These fake meat chicken nuggets are surprisingly good! I'm trying to eat less meat to have a smaller carbon footprint and I thought I would give these a try. The texture of them was much better than I thought and it tasted great!
