Reviews mention

  • Thoughtful, giftable packaging design
  • Occasionally thriving, long-lived plants
  • Warranty honored with mature replacements
  • Attractive selection of rare plants
  • Frequent shipping damage and breakage
  • Inconsistent plant size and maturity
  • Arrival with pests or disease
  • Unresponsive, unhelpful customer support

Rooted earns mixed reviews: while some plants arrive healthy, well-packaged, and thrive long-term, many reviews cite poor plant quality on arrival, inconsistent sizing, and unresponsive customer support. Strengths include attractive packaging and occasional successful warranty replacements, but frequent shipping damage, pest or disease issues, and denied or delayed resolutions make the brand unreliable for gifts or rare, larger specimens.

  • I ordered two cat palms. The plants are nice, but one was noticeably smaller than the other and one was much more mature than the other. If you’re buying multiple plants and want them to be close to the same size/height and maturity, please do not expect to receive them in such a way from Rooted. Apparently, Rooted makes this disclaimer somewhere on their site, but it wasn’t clear to me when buying. I would’ve thought twice if I saw and understood such a disclaimer before spending almost $200 on two plants. Their customer service also was not the greatest. This was my first time shopping here, but I won’t be shopping here anymore. That’s too bad because they have nice plants.

  • I purchased 4 alocasias. I ordered when weather was good. They took so long to come that a cold front moved in and froze them. Only 1 is still alive. Never never again.
