Potion Hydration reviews and discussion

I'd been on the search for an electrolyte drink with salt when I found Potion and knew I wanted to give it a try. It tastes great, and you can't really taste the salt for how much it is in there! The packaging design is a nice change from all the others on the market currently, making it feel less like a post-workout drink. The tab to open the packet pulls down rather than across the top, which is easier to open and makes it easier to pour into your drink; it's a feature I did not think much about at first but very much appreciated!

Overall Potion is really nice. There’s no added sugar and its nutrient breakdown is the same as LMNT so if you are looking for a salt hydration supplement Potion is a great option. I ordered the Pink Grapefruit and Yuzu Citrus flavors. The Citrus tastes like a watered-down version of yellow Gatorade. It’s really refreshing and not as overpowering as LMNT.

First off this packaging is SO cute. I thought that it would be powder when opening the bag but it’s all individual packets which is so convenient. I’m that person that doesn’t like drinking electrolytes bc I usually hate how salty it tastes, but this Yuzu flavor is IT! Love that its 0g of sugar too. Perfect to take after a sweaty workout & a def new addition to my routine

Got the Yuzu flavor and maybe that's where I went wrong? It has a bitter aftertaste to it that I don't enjoy at all. The instructions state to add it to ~23oz of water which seems like a very odd amount and not a typical size for any cup I have at home unless I use a large mason jar. I had issues tearing open a single packet and had to use scissors. The branding is simple in a good way and fun. I do think the product hydrates as it is supposed to.

This tastes so good! Have tried all the flavors and it's hard to pick a favourite! This is the best electrolyte drink I've come across!

Potion is now our daily drinker because (a) it's sugar free (b) it's delicious and (c) has the right balance of electrolytes you actually need. We love all the flavors but especially Yuzu.

I used the Yuzu Potion last weekend on a 2 day trail ride. Not only did it taste delicious but I didn’t cramp and felt great at the start of the second days ride. The saltiness was perfect for when I was exhausted after 80kms of riding.

Good marketing but not great tasting. It’s so overly sweetened from Stevia, which I’m not a fan of. It also requires 2 cups of water to be dissolved in so it’s a hefty serving.

Update: Potion finally got back to me, seemingly in response to this review, and sent out the product without more delay. Glad I finally got the order but customer emails going to spam is a significant problem if the customer is replying directly to the original order email (as the footer says to). For the product itself, it's tasty. Not too salty, not too sweet, punchy but not sour flavour, and contains what seems to be the going ratios for sodium, potassium, and magnesium. Each sachet is for ~23oz of water but might be better served by being packed for ~16oz of water, which is a more common size for water bottles both single-use and refillable. My glass holds about 19oz - maybe a stronger flavour than originally intended but again, tasty, and I feel pretty hydrated. Will definitely come in useful during the hot summer months. Original review: Ordered Dec 6, got a tracking number on Dec 9. Tracking number says "pre-shipment info received, waiting for parcel", and hasn't changed in a full month (it's now January 6). I've sent multiple follow-up emails without any reply. Even if the product is great, I couldn't tell you because their logistics team has completely fumbled. Hoping this is a one-off, but it leaves a sour (electrolyte-free) taste in the mouth.

i like the ingredients of this product but i find the flavor to be a little bitter, I end up using the product less because of it.

Great and convenient to use! Has just the right amount of sweetness also. I really liked the orange flavor. I'm usually a fan of grapefruit, but found this one to be a bit too strong in whatever flavoring that was used (seemed a bit artificial, could smell it across the room and the smell lingered in my water bottle after rinsing).

These taste so good! Depending on how used to drinking proper electrolyte drinks you are i.e., saltier than some other sugary drinks on the market - you can dial up or back the dilution. Once you get used to drinking salty electrolytes it's super hard to go back to sugary bland regular ones!

This is the best hydration product I've tried, and I've tried a few!! It's easy to mix and doesn't clump, plus the flavours are ELITE. The Yuzu Citrus tastes like lemonade, and the Pink Grapefruit would honestly be great as a mixer with some gin or vodka, haha! Highly recommend.

Finally, a hydration product that has the salt you need but also tastes good!
