Owala earns strong reviews as a high-performing, leak-resistant hydration brand whose FreeSip lid—offering both straw and chug options—makes drinking intuitive and keeps beverages cold for hours. Reviews also flag drawbacks: some sizes don’t fit cup holders, components can be tricky to clean with mold-prone silicone and occasional straw detachment, certain bottles feel heavy or top‑heavy, and isolated reports cite rust, paint chipping, instability in a tumbler, and leaks if unlocked.

I love my Owala and am seriously considering getting another — the color combos are so fun (I have the all-white one right now). It’s amazing how cold it keeps drinks, even after sitting in a hot car for hours. I love having the choice to sip through the straw or take a quick swig — super versatile! It’s easy to clean, incredibly durable, and goes everywhere with me — from travel days to workout classes. The built-in handle on top is a lifesaver when I’m juggling a million things at once. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with an Owala — it’s the best water bottle I’ve ever owned.

I love the Owala water bottles! I have a large one (40 oz) and love the straw/sip option on the lid. I don't love the color options - often they feel better for kids than adults - but I was able to find a neutral one and am happy with it.

It keeps drinks super cold, and is really sturdy metal-wise. The caps are nice because they include rubbery material to seal the top instead of just screwing on and leaking like other brands. I've put mine through a lot, and the handle has gotten looser and the straw has chipped, but the bottle itself seems indestructible.

Absolutely obsessed with this product - it makes me drink more water because you can choose between sipping or the straw. It's lightweight and aesthetic to carry around. Also, it keeps the water cold for a long time!

Excellent water bottle that is lightweight has a great seal and a great mechanism with the built-in straw that makes it a pleasure to use if you’re somebody who really enjoys using straws like I do when you’re drinking beverages

I absolutely love Owala water bottles! My favorite has to be the free sip water bottle, it keeps my water cold, fits perfectly in my backpack, and it has a secure locking mechanism which is great for when I drop my bottle or turn it upside down as it does not leak!

While I was very nervous to figure out the straw/pour situation, it was intuitive and I LOVE the ability to have both. Colors are great, easy to clean, keeps water cold....what more can you ask for???? It also works without a straw. In case you lose it.

i LOVE my owala water bottle! i have two others and like those too so when i was gifted it, i wasn't as enthused. but after using it for a few months, i love it. it keeps my water cold for much longer than the other two and is a more carrying-friendly size. this actually fits in my car's cup holder. i have also dropped this down canyons, into rivers, on rocks ... a few dents and it's still looking so good!

I've had an owala for over a year...it washes well and I like the side mouth for cleaning. It's gone to school activities and BoyScouts and keeps the water cool. Not as long as more expensive brands (you can feel the temperature from the inside on the outside), but I'm happy with it.

Obsessed with my owala water bottle. After struggling with many bottles leaking in my bags, I landed on owala and haven’t looked back. The optionality of the lid with a straw or sip feature leaves nothing to match this quality.

Absolutely in love with this brand! I’ve tried Hyrdoflask, Hydrojug, etc and always come back to my Owala. I have the free sip water bottle in white and a tumbler in this gorgeous blue color. The free sip doesn’t leak and the tumbler keeps liquid cold for a long time.

If you want a bottle that makes drinking more water easy this is it! I love the straw feature. No tilting or spilling, and an easy to press button to open it. My kids love “mama’s water bottle.” My only qualm is that it does need to be cleaned pretty often to avoid mild building up.

These water bottles are great for kids. It's difficult to find a bottle that does not have a silicone or soft plastic spout, which encourages chewing. These bottles have a hard spout, easy to clean and look great.

My Owala water bottle has become one of those everyday items I genuinely love. The colorway I chose feels very “me,” and the straw/mouthpiece setup is honestly one of my favorite parts, it makes sipping throughout the day super easy without thinking about it. It’s durable, keeps water cold, and fits seamlessly into my routine. I’m glad I bought it.

Absolutely love the design of these - my go to water bottle for hiking because I can easily carry it with me. And my younger son loved it so much that I got home for him as well, I love that it's a bigger size so he can use it all day at school.

I really love my owala… the fun and functional design really makes me want to drink water. I love that it has a straw and the fact that you can remove the straw if you prefer to not have it. there are so many colour options to choose from which is amazing!

I used the same hydroflask for years that wasn’t really insulated and the straw was exposed to EVERYTHING. Owala has been an absolute upgrade. I loved that it keeps my drinks nice and cold even in the Phoenix heat, the straw or pour option is fantastic and covered from the elements with the locking cap. I also like that the mouth of the straw isn’t actually a straw because I have a bad habit of chewing my straw.

This is actually the best water bottle I’ve ever used. I love the way the cap turns into a handle for when you need to hold several things in your hand but I love the functionality. I find that this even keeps my ice cold for hours at a time.

Recently got one of these after my previous water bottle grew feet and walked away at work. A big fan of the handle and how it also ensures that the lid locks. And the fact that there is a built in straw?! Game changer, since I am a straw person over open mouth, but Owala lets you drink it your way. I was won over and bought one for my husband as well.

I love my Owala water bottle. I love that it has a straw with a protected cover over it. It keeps my water cold for a while. I clean it with their cleaning tablets. I also have the kids tumbler, which is super cute and hard to spill.
