Oddbox delivers surplus produce leftover from local farmers to prevent food waste.
In their own words
Back in 2016, Emilie and Deepak we tasted a delicious but ever-so-slightly ugly tomato from a market in Portugal. It struck us them that we only ever see aw identical-looking fruit and veg in our supermarkets, so we did some digging and learnt that around 40% of all food grown goes to waste.
When food is wasted, so is all the water and energy used to produce it – in fact, Project Drawdown has identified food waste as the third most effective solution to fight climate change.
We’re on a mission to make sure all food grown is eaten. With a pioneering ‘grower-led’ model, we rescue farm-fresh fruit and veg at risk of going to waste, then deliver to customers' doors overnight to reduce emissions. Too wonky? Not for us.
Since launching we've delivered over 5 million boxes–that’s around 35,000 tonnes of rescued fruit and veg. We’ve also supported more than 95 growers to find a good home for their produce and donated the equivalent of 1.7 million meals to charity.
