  • Sometimes overly sweet taste

Oatly impresses in reviews for café-worthy performance—its Barista Edition froths reliably and delivers a creamy, smooth texture that elevates coffee, matcha, and lattes—while dividing opinion over formulation. Fans praise the rich mouthfeel, neutral-to-oaty flavor, and versatility across baking, cereal, and smoothies; critics cite seed/rapeseed oils, gums/additives, sweetness, and occasional digestive upset as drawbacks. Overall, Oatly is considered a top-tasting, highly consistent oat milk for beverages, but less appealing to buyers prioritizing ultra‑clean ingredients.

  • Love the taste of Oatly. I put it in my coffee every morning and have found it to be thicker than other oat milks. Also love their packaging!

  • I like the low fat version but it’s so hard to find. It’s the only one without all the added oils!

  • I do enjoy the taste of this oat milk as well as the texture. However, the added oils are of not good quality and their addition has turned me away from using this product.

    Remove inflammatory oils.

  • One of the better oat milks. Absolutely loved it’s mission and how it inspired other oat milk companies!

    Feedback

I don’t think there’s a need for rapeseed oil in oat milk. I wouldn’t recommend if you have gut issues but if not it’s great.

  • Oatly milk is just okay. Not the best oat milk I’ve ever had but also not the worst. The consistency is a lot thinner than I’d like.

    Feedback

Consistency could be thicker for what I use it for (in coffee)

  • This is the best oat milk I have tried. It's not too thick and it's not too runny. The flavor itself is also not too overpowering. I can put it in my coffee and not notice a difference!

  • The taste and viscosity of this oat milk is one of my favorite dairy alternatives on the market. Plus, I like how it's more environmentally friendly than almond milk options.

    Feedback

More variety in flavors and expanding types of products (coffee creamer, heavy cream, yogurt, etc)

  • I love the regular oat milk. It makes my matcha latte sweet but not too sweet. My lactose intolerant stomach loves it even more

    Feedback

    More flavors

  • I buy this, because it's convenient. Branding stands out.

    Feedback

I wish there were fewer ingredients.

  • Oatly is creamy and tasty. The best non-dairy substitute for coffee and baking.

  • This is my favorite brand of oat beverage aside from Chobani. It’s thick and creamy and great in an iced chai latte.

  • Oatly is my go-to dairy alternative milk option. I always keep a carton in my fridge!

    Feedback

The ingredients could be more sustainable, but I haven't found another oat milk brand with the same consistency that has better ingredients.

  • The best oat milk that I've tried. It has a natural sweetness and goes very well with my morning latte. It froths up well if you enjoy it hot. Has a perfect consistency, not too thick nor too liquidy for my liking.

    Feedback

The main reason why I stop buying Oatly is that their ingredients list is not the best.

  • I am not a huge fan of milk alternatives- used to drink whole milk. But this has been a game-changer. Not only does it froth well for my coffee but I’ve used it to bake on several occasions and has always worked out.

  • Really tasty oat milk, and I’ve tried a bunch. Not watered down like other oat milk products, smooth and creamy. Love adding this into my morning cup of joe.

    Feedback

The brand is very eh. Love the product, don’t love the people behind it.

  • The company that got me into oatmilk, but I no longer drink theirs - generic brands are better and have a better consistency

    Feedback

    Could be thicker

  • I love the regular oat milk - super good milk alternative! Also, if you're someone with a sensitive stomach who has issues with nut milks, I highly advise it.

    Feedback

The nonfat oat milk option is....a bit off-putting.

  • Great tasting oatmilk. My go-to.

    Feedback

I'm thinking about making my own oat milk (it can be expensive), but for now this is definitely the best option out there.

  • I think it’s great that there is another milk alternative out there and it tastes great, but I wish that there weren’t any oils added because it can affect the gut’s health.

To give that same creamy feel, change it to avocado oil
