Reviews mention

  • Creamy, dairy-like mouthfeel
  • Exceptional barista-grade frothing
  • Versatile, cooking-friendly consistency
  • Consistently smooth, neutral flavor
  • Additive-heavy ingredient list
  • Occasional glucose-spike concerns
  • Possible gut sensitivity reports
  • Inconsistent thickness across versions

Oatly earns strong reviews for creamy, dairy-like texture—especially the Barista Edition, which froths reliably for café-level lattes and blends beautifully in coffee, matcha, and baking—while critiques target ingredient lists with added oils/gums and a sometimes sweet or “oaty” aftertaste. Reviews also note occasional gut sensitivity and glucose spikes, plus variability in thickness across versions, making Oatly a standout for performance in drinks but not ideal for those seeking the cleanest formulas.

  • I love oatly! My favorite oat milk

  • Best dairy free barista milk on the market! It froths beautifully, makes the drinks actually creamy and very light flavor. Pantry staple.

  • Taste is good and for sure a great sub for real milk. saying that, I'm torn by their ingredients and I'm really not sure how "healthy" it really is.

  • Ugh I’m torn on this one. I love & hate it. I think there’s too much added ingredients now but still like the flavor

  • Love oatly! Tastes so good in everything.

  • Love love use it in my coffee and teas. Sometimes in smoothies too.

  • I love Oatly! It's a bit on the expensive side, but I think it tastes great and the creamy version is the perfect consistency for tea and coffee. I also love the Chocolate Oat Milk! It's not too sugary and the thickness is basically the same as regular milk (not too watery)!

  • Love for adding to hot drinks as base for chai and hot chocolate

  • Picked up a couple cartons of oatly barista for my husband to use with his espresso machine and he seemed to love it enough to request more! I noticed that it frothed way quicker and easier too, compared to his regular almond milk. Probably froths as easily as whole milk!

  • This is one of my favorites. It isn't dusty and doesn't taste like a box.

  • Oatly is so creamy and delicious. I love it added to coffee or smoothies or in cereal. Good simple ingredients as well

  • Really a fine choice when they have the barista oatly at a cafe, but for home use, there is way too much gum and other additive binders that make it odd tasting.

  • I love oatly products! As a lactose intolerant girlie it is so creamy

  • One of my favorite oat milk options, the ingredients are natural and it’s around $3. My only complaint is how much sugar there is per serving.

  • I recently became lactose intolerant, much to my dismay, so I've been experimenting with milk alternatives. Oatly has me torn! For flavor and texture, its a favorite. I actually prefer it in a latte to milk now. And the ice creams are absolutely delicious! But a health food it is not, with all the additives, so I reserve for "treats" rather than a dairy replacement.

  • Best oat friendly products there is!!

  • The best of the oat milk bunch! I use this for everything.

  • My favorite oat milk. Good flavor and I love how creamy it is! I've been a barista for 7 years, and it is pretty good for steaming as well. Sometimes the original is a little too sweet for me, but I still really enjoy it.

  • I use Oatly as my go to coffee creamer & even as a touch to my espresso martinis! Such a creamy non dairy alternative to balance your drinks.
