Reviews mention

  • Creamy barista-grade texture
  • Reliable foam stability
  • Neutral, balanced flavor
  • Versatile culinary performance
  • Additive-heavy ingredient list
  • Occasional digestive discomfort
  • Inconsistent sweetness perception
  • Watery texture in light versions

Oatly earns high marks in reviews for creamy, barista-friendly oat milks—especially Barista Edition and Full Fat—that steam, froth, and elevate coffee, tea, and baking, with many calling it the best-tasting oat milk. Reviews also flag drawbacks: some find certain versions watery or overly sweet, and many criticize the ingredient list (oils, gums, phosphates) and report digestive upset or blood-sugar spikes, while a minority prefer competitors’ thicker texture.

  • Oatly is, obviously, a delicious tasting milk alternative. However, if you're looking for something with low sugar content that won't spike your glucose level, stay far away.

  • I am a big fan of the taste, performance, and consistency of Oatly. It is an especially great milk alternative for coffee and matcha and is the best tasting oat milks on the market by far.

I go for the low fat version because there are not as many additives. I don't like the inclusion of canola oil (Rapeseed Oil) in the regular version (although the regular version tastes a bit better). The other downside is the lengthly list of additives.

  • Listen. Oatly is wonderful. A great milk. Great for baristas too. Overall my favorite nondairy milk. Awesome company too. Lots of charity efforts!

    Feedback

I wish there were more oil free options. There's no reason we should be guzzling down canola oil every time we bake, have a coffee, or drink a glass of milk. It's really awful and I just wish more folks knew what they were drinking.

  • Bought this to mix in with smoothies and really like it! It is actually very tasty on its own but definitely a great way to add some flavor and nutrients to a smoothie.

Compared to some other similar products, I felt the price point was a bit higher.

  • Great taste, consistent product

    Feedback

Tough to avoid, but annoying that it "granulates" in coffee over a short period of time

  • There's no other oat milk that has the same kind of deep, nutty flavor as Oatly. My favorite is the Barista version and it is actually a huge part of my life. I literally have it every day, whether that be in my matcha latte or an espresso drink.

  • Such an amazing milk alternative. It froths well, it tastes creamy and the texture is great.

  • Obsessed. Like it more then cows milk.

    Feedback

    Not a thing.

  • My first experience with Oat Milk a couple years ago. It continues to be the best frothing milk of the oat variety I have ever tried.

    Feedback

    Nothing really. Simple and good.

  • Simply the best oat milk.

  • All-time fav combined with coffee, as a cappuccino of flat white

In Belgium it's kinda hard to find the small ones.

  • Before Oatly became the hit it is today, I chased it around coffee shops in Ithaca, NY and I'm so happy it's become widely accepted. Nowadays with all the options, I opt for the white box since it doesn't have the added oil. It doesn't need it anyway, but I get the desire for it when you want something extra frothy.

  • A great and classic milk substitute. Oatly is amazing in iced coffee and surprisingly amazing in a bowl of cereal. Makes everything so much creamier without actually using any milk or cream. 10/10

    Feedback

Costs more than most milk substitutes

  • Is creamy, delicious and expensive (in Aust)

The brand vibe is amazing, gives you a feeling you're buying into something that is beyond milkd. The copy, the visual language, it's all really quite fun and unique. The milk itself is good, not the best Oat milk out there but not the worst either.

  • So good. I ended up with high cholesterol after going on the Keto diet and switched to Oat milk. Somehow it's thick enough to stand in as milk! Stoked, didn't know this was possible.

    Feedback

    It's expensive!

  • Love their mission and brand, but don't love all the gums and added stuff in their oat milk

  • Obsessed with Oatly. I'm lactose intolerant, but even if I wasn't, I would still drink Oatly over other brands of milk. Oatly is the perfect amount of sweetness, without pounding too much sugar into it. Perfect for morning coffee + smoothies.

Availability - honestly, I've run out of milk several times + ran to the supermarket just to find out that Oatly was out of stock.

  • I used to like oatly . But now I feel the quality is quite poor and also, all the different options they launched now makes me wonder what is on ingredients-wise.

    Feedback

As the market has grown there is a better alternative at the moment to oatly. I order my oat milk from my local milkman, I think is 10 times better: Locally produced, more sustainable packaging and better quality.

  • The barista edition is my must-have at home for the cappuccino moments in life. For my friends. And we buy it for the office!

    Feedback

As I tested gluten-sensitive, I would wish for a gluten-free barista milk to replace regular milk. Maybe one day ...

  • Ikaffe, the barista edition. Our household uses nothing else anymore. Parents use it in coffee and kids simply love drinking it as is. MUST TRY
