  • Smooth, neutral oat flavor
  • Versatile, beverage performance
  • Additive-heavy ingredient list
  • Seed oil, rapeseed inclusion

  • Sometimes overly sweet taste

Oatly impresses in reviews for café-worthy performance—its Barista Edition froths reliably and delivers a creamy, smooth texture that elevates coffee, matcha, and lattes—while dividing opinion over formulation. Fans praise the rich mouthfeel, neutral-to-oaty flavor, and versatility across baking, cereal, and smoothies; critics cite seed/rapeseed oils, gums/additives, sweetness, and occasional digestive upset as drawbacks. Overall, Oatly is considered a top-tasting, highly consistent oat milk for beverages, but less appealing to buyers prioritizing ultra‑clean ingredients.

  • I used the Barista Oat Drink, and found it was great in cereal, coffee and to make porridge. It had a full flavour and quite thick texture for a milk alternative. It was easily as nice as other brands.

  • I like their products, but the packaging and tone of it can sometimes feel obnoxious.

  • best oat milk out there. really makes a difference and truly taste the oat. also just the right amount of thickness

  • It is not as watery or bland as other milk alternative creamers but this is also not the creamiest.

  • Oatly is super popular in my community, and it makes a supported claim to be a more sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to dairy products. Oat milk is made from mostly oats and water, but Oatly steps it up to ensure that their product contains added vitamins and minerals. To me that’s a fair fight for smart consumers.

I would say that Oatly is a solid alternative to traditional dairy milk, and it has a unique taste and texture that sets it apart from other non-dairy options. The brand's commitment to sustainability is also worth noting and is something that can make consumers feel better about their purchasing decisions.

  • A little watery, but overall really good! And froths nicely for a latte.

  • I loveee the taste of OATLY oat milk, unfortunately it’s loaded with seed oils which I tended to ignore for awhile. It ended up causing me a lot of inflammation, it tastes so great but I had to switch to a cleaner oat milk brand because of the seed oils.

I think by now there are better brands out there to chose from, they won’t have the same taste as OATLY but the closest alternative I’ve found is the MALK oat milk which is one of the only natural brands that doesn’t have a grainy taste

  • I use this daily! I love the chocolate flavoured milk, it is so creamy and tastes incredible! Oat milk just tastes amazing in a cup of tea, YUM!

  • Oatly is by far the best oat milk for my taste preferences. Great for using in cakes, pancakes, porridge, burcher and coffee ☕️

  • I never understood the hype specifically for the grey Oatly... All the oat drinks I've ever tasted have been weird, however this is the first product I've actually enjoyed with my coffee. It has a creamy texture, a little sweet but not too sweet. (Plus point that it has no added sugar - at least not on the ingredients list.)

A stronger brand presence outside America would be good, because in many European countries you still have to be clever to this product.

  • I just bought this once. I have learned using oat milk for creamer lattes work better than almond milk. This brand is a thick creamer consistency. Although before buying the creamer barista carton edition, I used to by the regular milk carton. And from what I read in the ingredients, there isn’t a difference. So I did not purchase again. I did like they didn’t add any flavoring like other creamer brands. I like to add my flavoring myself so I know what additional sugars I am putting into my beverages.

If you buy this brand already, I would recommend the barista carton edition. If you prefer drinking almond milk or coconut, etc. But want a creamier latte this is a great option. And alternative milks typically last longer.

  • During the quarantining, I used this brand for my coffees. It did the job.... creamy and delicious. I wouldn't drink it on its own though.

  • It’s a great alternative to plant-based milk. It basically tastes like oatmeal so I add it to smoothies, oatmeal, coffee and it gives a creamy taste. I love it!

I wish it wasn’t so light in terms of liquid consistency.

  • I am a huge fan of OATLY. I do not have a dairy intolerance, but personally like the taste of oat milk better in my coffee.

    Feedback

The barista version is great for people who foam their milk before adding to their espresso or coffee.

  • It was gifted to me from a friend and I really enjoyed it. It lasted about a week in my house hold. It was a nice switch from I usually use.

    Feedback

I enjoyed all of the oat notes of the milk I wouldn’t change anything.

  • This oat milk is super creamy, and delicious! Oatly is also a wonderful, proactive brand that highlights critical topics!

    Feedback

I love Oatly plant-based milks and I think it’s awesome to support brands that are driven by ethics in multiple ways!

  • Love this Oatmilk because it is not as sweet as a lot of other oatmilkbrands and it’s super easy to froth.

    I drink it a lot
  • Using Oatly actually makes me excited to make my latte each morning. Having a sensitivity to dairy has forced me to try several Oat milk brands, but none comes close to the experience Oatly provides.

  • Lovely but a treat as expensive and better protein milks available

    Feedback

I do really like this oat milk (vegan so its important to find a good one). It does make coffee taste good, but I do feel there are better milks out there if you want a higher protein/lower sugar version. I buy as a treat as its more expensive

  • Great tasty product, I used this as a creamer in my coffee.
