Discover the world of O My Bag and shop ethically made leather bags and accessories. Changing the world, one bag at a time. Founded in 2011 by Paulien Wesselink, our story is about making a positive difference in the world by connecting producers in small communities to the global market and creating fair job opportunities. We believe in trade, not aid. As a company, we are constantly striving to improve our processes to become more conscious and sustainable. We only work with producers who share our principles. Over the years, we have built strong relationships through respect and honesty. We talk to our producers on a weekly or sometimes daily basis to ensure ethical practices are implemented. All our factories are SA8000 certified to ensure that they operate under fair conditions, and EMA is a guaranteed member of the World Fair Trade Organization. Ensuring the longevity and durability of our bags is critical in our design process. At the same time, we always strive toward choosing sustainable, low-impact materials. We work only with premium quality leather tanned without the use of any toxic materials, durable and sustainable plant-based Apple leather, and certified recycled and organic cotton. Being a fast-growing, international brand, we have an impact on the environment. But we are determined to keep our footprint as low as possible. Besides trade relations, we also want to have a positive impact on the surrounding communities and people in India. That is why we donate 1% of O My Bag's annual revenue to support local projects which focus on women empowerment or education. So far, 9.189 lives have been positively impacted through our support. We focus our projects on women empowerment, education, and the LGBTQ+ community.
