I was gifted a couple skincare products by Mutha, and I have to admit that like other users, I thought they were expensive and overpriced. I'm assuming that one reason why they're expensive is because they invested in actual skincare trials.  They also came up with a definition of clean beauty, which has no legally regulated definition. Because of that fact, it's important that "clean" brands define what that means to them. Here are some thoughts about products I’ve been testing for a few months:

Up All Night Eye Cream 
A very lightly highlighting eye cream that’s best used in the morning to improve under eye radiance. I loved the natural results, gentle formula, and easy-to-dispense packaging. Note that this cream starts with a light beige tint, but it can be blended into a glowy, transparent cream on any skin tone.

Body Oil
Totally suitable for sensitive skin like mine, this body oil smells delicious and botanical while soothing my dry patches. While it has no added fragrance or perfume, it is formulated with citrus peel oils and fruit extract, which provide a slight citrus scent akin to essential oils. A little goes a long way and it has good spread. While this has botanicals in it, it did not irritate my sensitive skin.

Face Oil
I’m often skeptical of face oils that are priced at $110 (like this one) bc I’d rather be getting long-proven ingredients like retinol in my skincare if I don't know why the oil costs so much. This one has interesting ingredients such as squalene and CoQ10, but I’d love to know more from the company about why it’s at this price point--i.e. with the information available, I just can't recommend someone buy it at this price point. Unlike the body oil, this one has an "ingredient" smell that’s not super pleasant for the price. This makes sense bc botanicals can be very irritating to the face.

I get it… they’re aiming to be a luxury brand… but maybe offer some more affordable products that people who want the luxury experience without breaking the bank such as body wash, facial cleanser, or lip balm.

This brand got it’s hype by being sold by luxury high-end retailers. By being sold at these stores, it instantly becomes a sought after product. In my experience, it is EXTREMELY overpriced. The eye cream sucks… basically just makeup. The Face Oil is nice and hydrating and absorbs really fast and is nice, but is pricey. I think there’s nothing crazy innovative about the products, but they do look nice on the counter.

It's really expensive for how much serum you get.  It has a funny smell, but it goes away.  They use too much packaging for the product size.   If you have sensitive skin, be sure and test it on your arm for a few days before putting on your face.  Just because it's made with natural origin ingredients, doesn't mean your skin will tolerate it.

I tried the Mutha No. 1 serum after watching a video by Gucci Westman on products she likes for her skin.  She has rosacea and I thought if someone with rosacea can use this product, I could too on my sensitive skin.  Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.  After using it only twice, once at night and then again in the morning, I had a severe allergic reaction to one of the many botanicals in the product.  My skin got red, irritate, itchy and my face and eyes swelled up.  It's been 6 days now, and still not better.
