Reviews mention

  • Smooth-writing gel pens
  • Thoughtful minimalist design
  • Durable storage organizers
  • Calming in-store atmosphere
  • Boxy apparel fits
  • Occasional pen smudging
  • Inconsistent clothing quality
  • Flimsy cleaning tools

Muji earns strong reviews as a minimalist one‑stop shop that works well for stationery, storage, and home basics—its 0.36–0.5 gel pens, notebooks, diffusers, and modular organizers draw consistent praise for smooth performance, thoughtful design, and longevity. Reviews also flag drawbacks: clothing can fit boxy or feel mid‑quality, some items (especially certain home goods) feel overpriced, pens may smudge or skip, and online selection/UX lags, making in‑store experiences distinctly better.

  • A minimalist's dream. Their products are affordable AND cute. Also don't miss out on their pens - they're elite.

  • I love walking into the Muji store for the aesthetics of this brand. It's minimalist and you can find some interesting Japanese-designed products for the home. I'm a fan of their gel pens that come in two different tip/writing thicknesses. The items aren't cheap, but they're well-made.

  • Ahh! We love a little Muji. They have literally everything you could need to make your home a little more streamlined, yet cozy – think IKEA with a Japanese twist. Their products are exactly what they say they are: straightforward, versatile, and simple. Top of mind favorites include their pens and notepads (huge selection, everything you need for the ultimate designer in your life), kitchen and houseware (including diffusers that make the store smell amazing), and a good range of basic clothing, like t-shirts, socks, slippers and other cozy basics. They also have an excellent assortment of other essentials, like bedding, dishes and organizers. I've never had an issue with their offerings or quality – my favorite sweater from there is about 10 years old and still holds up great.

  • Such an honest-to-goodness brand. Their products are durable and perform exceptionally. Clothes, homeware, stationery (especially pens) and even beauty products. I've yet to find something that isn't up to scratch. Love the Japanese-inspired design aesthetic. Simple, yet elegant.

  • They make such useful products for organization. I love their modern clean design and affordable prices.

  • love muji, such wonderful shops and range of products. i have the mini humidifier and recently brought it as a wedding gift for a friend who loves it the snacks are great (marshmallows and chocolate covered strawberries are a favourite of mine) their beauty storage containers are amazing and I use them every day the stationary is wonderful, a little on the pricier side for some things (I used to buy my paper there when I was in school) but the quality cannot be faulted

  • Love their products, but wish they would expand on their ranges and include a bigger clothing selection and activewear.

  • I love Muji for their notebooks, their desk accessories, their cotton pads, their pens. All so reasonably priced and so elegant! The unbleached cotton pads are life changing!

  • MUJI is one of my favorite brands! Love love love the simplicity and price point. Straightforward design and I find that most items I've purchased are durable. I especially love the travel containers but I think they have discontinued those, I visited 3 muji stores in different countries but they were all out, sadly. I also purchase essential home organization and cleaning items from Muji and so far they are all working out great.

  • Great products for work, travel, and home. I use their small travel bottles everywhere I go and exclusively use their pens!

  • Muji is THE place for stationary and organizers. The pens and notebooks come in every colour and style you could think of or need, with different sizes and bindings and papers, they’re not necessary of course, but a pretty low cost way to elevate your notebook needs. I love the acrylic organizers but they do tend to be a little more ‘splurges’, altho the ones I have are good quality, sturdy and have lasted me for at least 6 years.

  • Muji is the end all be all of practical needs that are cute and work well. I have stocked my desk and bedroom with Muji products and everything is functional and flows well together. Admittedly, I may not have needed everything but the quality is worth it!

  • I only use stationary from Muji! The pens are the BEST. I have been using the .5 pens since high school and have never looked back

  • Extremely well stocked and you can always find an interesting snack. The organizational products are a life savior. Some household product, particularly kitchen related, can be a little pricey so it comes down to preference and budgeting.

  • I’ve been to Muji’s in multiple countries and love my experience every time! High quality and affordable products with clean aesthetics and minimal branding. Love it, selfishly wish one would open in Seattle so I don’t have wait to travel to Portland to get my in person Muji fix.

  • Love Muji, it's a great one stop shop for everything and anything from clothes to furniture to pantry staples to skincare and beyond.

  • The chokehold that Muji gel pens have on me is insane. It’s also so hard to just buy the pink pen in NYC so often I’m having to buy the pack version lol. But I’m not upset by it.

  • I am only leaving 4 stars because of the price point. This brand has so many different products that I love. The socks and scarfs are amazing. The pens are the best ones I’ve used.
