  • They taste fine - if you want a flavorless gel. Not too sweet, they won’t be something you loathe when you’re tired in the middle of a long run. But the cost is so much higher than similar gels for no good reason. As in, double the cost. I didn’t have an upset stomach with them, but didn’t with others either. $4-5 apiece is just crazy, especially since it doesn’t have electrolytes or anything else that a cheaper gel (or candy) can’t give you.

  • tastes a bit too sweet for me, texture is great though where it's not too liquid-like and has more substance than other gels.

  • Received a Maurten Solid C 160 and was not expecting the color to be charcoal esque...it is quite sweet, due to the cocoa. Tastes and feels like an elevated rice crispy for athletes/people who participate in movement, is it somewhat pricey so would only recommend stocking up from runs!

  • I've tried a few sports gels and I do see why Maurten gels are so popular. They taste like cotton candy and I've found them to go down super easily, and you don't need to flush them down with water afterwards. They are however pretty expensive, so not really suitable for regular training and more of a special treat on race days.
