Reviews mention

  • Low-glycemic formula, blood-sugar friendly
  • Soft-baked, chewy cookie texture
  • Colorful, eye-catching packaging
  • High-fiber, portion-controlled packs
  • Occasionally dry, cakey texture
  • Noticeable sweetener aftertaste
  • Small cookie size, scant quantity
  • Inconsistent, muted flavor intensity

Joydays earns largely positive reviews as a low-glycemic, low-sugar cookie that satisfies sweet cravings without spikes, with many comparing the soft-baked texture to Chewy Chips Ahoy and praising colorful packaging, generous chocolate chips, fiber, and portion-controlled packs. Reviews also flag downsides: frequent dryness or “healthy”/aftertaste notes, small cookie size, inconsistent texture, and polarizing flavors (notably peanut butter), making them a better-for-you alternative rather than a true classic cookie replacement.

  • I think these are great! Really nice macros that make this a healthy snack. I love the chewy texture of the cookie! It's not quite soft baked, it's not crunchy, so chewy is the perfect descriptor! 120 calories, 5 g of protein and 5 g of fiber is such a nice ratio for a delicious treat and the serving size / size of the two cookies is perfect! I will definitely be buying more. I'd only ask the peanut butter flavor to taste a bit more like peanut butter, right now it's mostly shortbread.

  • The Chocolate Chip Cookies have minimal sugar and are a great option for those trying to limit sugar. However, they would not be my choice to snack on as better-tasting snacks and cookies are available.

  • The flavor of the Joydays cookies was okay, but honestly they were not fantastic (especially not the peanut butter ones), the dark chocolate ones were my favorite. The texture is pretty dry but doable.

  • bum-mer! I really wanted to love these cookies. Based on the nutritional information, I thought I had found a healthy snack that would also taste great. Nope. It didn't happen. They were very bland. I could not detect a real sweetness or a chocolate taste.

  • I really enjoyed joy day cookies. The cookie was a nice consistency, somewhere between hard and soft. It had a nice amount of chocolate chips. They can be eaten on their own, dunked in milk, or even crumbled over something fun like ice cream. I like that they are healthy. They are easy to fit into a healthful diet.

  • The cookies taste great relative to the low sugar content. If you harbor expectations that these are going to taste like a classic chocolate chip cookie, you’re going to be disappointed.

  • If you are craving a cookie, but have dietary restrictions, you will still be disappointed by these dry, joyless "cookies" There must be a better substitute for those that can't eat regular cookies, because these are not good and actually quite sad.

  • Not bad. It was a good treat foe a cookie especially if worried about sugar count and diabetes. It was a good gray that had some flavor. I know from having regular cookies it is not the same but it is enough to satisfy you.

  • Man, these cookies were terrible. They are called Joydays and they ruined my day. I would rather eat two good, unhealthy cookies than eat these absolutely terrible "healthy" cookies. The texture was too soft, the taste was bland, they weren't sweet enough. One of the worst things I've eaten this year. They might be better if they rebranded to be more of a snack bar and have a different name -- they are setting expectations way too high by having "joy" in the name and calling them cookies.

  • The cookies are soft, tasty, not too sweet. I liked them counting the benefits - fiver and protein in them. The price is too high to order them on regular basis for me.

  • Good overall flavor and size. Taste was good but didn’t care for texture, peanut bits were a little large for my preference and detracted from overall enjoyment.

  • I did not enjoy it much, it tastes like any other regular store bought chewy cookie. Also the cookies are too small. It is also too expensive for the quality and quantity. Other healthier and budget friendly cookies can be found at other local stores.

  • These cookies taste great and aren’t too sweet. They are good when you are trying to keep your sugar intake lower. I like these cookies but the price for a box is really over the top.

  • Love low-sugar cookies. I'll trade anything with low-sugar food.

  • Super yummy for both me (mom) and kids! Great serving size, and easy to take on-the-go.

  • They are definitely more of a granola bar consistency, but still have a sweet flavor. I got the variety pack and tried out the chocolate chip. I like to watch my sugar intake, and grabbed for this as a nice mid morning snack. It has a soft consistency, good texture, and good flavor. I would recommend this to anyone that is needing to watch their sugar. I also would feel comfortable giving these to my kids as a snack, however the price point is a tad high compared to other snack options. $14.99 for 6 bars makes them over $2 a piece. Which is good for an occasional treat. The website branding is gorgeous, and their customer service is lovely!

  • I appreciate that they’re low in sugar, but they definitely aren’t fooling anyone expecting a real cookie. They’re soft and crumbly, with a strong date flavor. Instead of receiving the variety pack I ordered, they sent theee boxes of double chocolate. It took about two weeks to arrive (not eligible for Prime shipping) and is not returnable. The double chocolate one tastes a bit like the chocolate Fiber One bars.

  • As far as healthier sweets these do a good job of tackling a sweet tooth. Not quite like a real sugary cookie (hence four stars), but I would grab for these!
