Taste is really nice (much better than green tea in my opinion), but I have a bit of a sweet tooth so added some honey to my cup which makes it taste even better

I was feeling anxious and jittery after my morning coffees so was looking for an alternative, and came across ilex. I was honestly pretty dubious that ilex would give me energy without any negative side effects, but I feel so much better - I'm working more efficiently, thinking more clearly, and don't have an awful crash at midday. 

As a lover of all things peppermint, I was so excited to find the Ilex Peppermint & Spearmint Mate. It leaves me feeling refreshed, energised and sharp. The perfect alternative to coffee without the side effects. Super excited to try the other flavours!

I've really enjoyed drinking ilex mate during my day to help bring focus into my work. Sometimes I add in a bit of lemon or honey, but it's a delicious herbal tea all on its own!

I'm someone who can't drink espresso as I'm too sensitive to the caffeine. What I like about ilex mate is being able to have a drink on hand for the days when I need a pick-me-up to help clear the afternoon fog but that doesn't make me feel overly jittery or nauseous ( as caffeine sometimes does ). The simple design and thoughtful packaging is appreciated too.

I tried to get off of coffee a few months ago and within the first couple of days, was met with unbearable headaches and energy crashes at work. I caved and started back on my daily morning brews. I was still waking up tired and reliant on this cuppa to perk me up for the day..only to have anxiety through half of the morning. When I found ilex, I committed to ditching coffee once again and this time, the transition was so seamless! Started off with one peppermint (yummm) ilex each morning. No headaches and such a refreshing way to wake. In the first few weeks, I was still finding myself losing energy mid-day but now have figured out that having a second in the afternoon keeps me going without jitters and still able to sleep at night :)  It's like a subtle, steady, clear-headed boost all day long. I look forward to my morning yoga routine, more calm and centered with ilex in my teapot.

Still a cafe and coffee lover at heart! So I sometimes treat myself to a cheeky oat latte on the weekend...now free to enjoy the taste without the reliance.
