Reviews on hiyo’s website have a higher average rating compared to reviews on Thingtesting.
hiyo earns mixed reviews: many users report a gentle, immediate calm or “float” that helps replace an evening drink, while a significant number experience no effect or develop headaches, nausea, or stomach upset. Reviews praise refreshing, not-too-sweet flavors like Watermelon Lime, Blackberry Lemon, and Peach Mango and elegant branding, but note inconsistent flavor intensity, sediment in Peach Mango, and a tendency to feel bloated or dehydrated.

I was very excited to hear about Hiyo so I spent the money to get the variety 12 pack. I felt it was a bit pricy, but if it really delivers then it would be worth the investment. It was shipped very quickly, which was amazing! The first day, I was a bit cautious because other things tend to hit me faster than the average person. I drank one of each flavor over the course of about 3 1/2 hours. The first was Blackberry Lemon. Not horrible, but a bit flat on taste. I didnt feel anything different after drinking it. The 2nd was Watermelon Lime. I liked flavor much more, but still didn't feel anything. The 3rd one was Peach Mango and I didn't really care for the flavor. It tasted more like cucumber to me. I drank it down and waited. Nothing. No float or even a mellow feel. I didn't want to give up so day 2 I did the same think but I drank all three in half the time. Same order of flavors. Still nothing. I did start to feel a bit of a headache so I didn't want to drink a 4th one. I will eventually finish these off just because they cost me nearly $50, but I don't think I will purchase them again. I'm so sorry...I really hoped for more.

Absolutely loved these. Pricy, yes but not having a hangover, making stupid drunk decisions etc makes up for the price tag. I had several of these at one sitting in various flavors. Very first sip I was ehh, kind of flat tasting and taste was different. But each one grew on my and my “float” was perfect, sometimes I was very social, talkative, and other moments I was enjoying my own world. It was the first night of a holiday weekend and honestly I felt great all evening. In the morning, no hangover. I bought 4 more cases and looking forward to my next “float”.
The watermelon lime is VERY tasty. I enjoy watermelon flavored things though. Blackberry is eeh and mango is ok. The “float” off the first two sips is noticeable for sure. It gave me a relaxing feeling almost immediately. I drank 3 in a row but never seemed to get a “floatier” feeling after the first. I did notice that my urine was a bit more clear so I think that’s good 😊. It’s very pricey at $49 after shipping for a 12 pack! I would probably buy single cans if they sold it in a convenience store but wouldn’t consider it an alcohol replacement for a night out. I’d say it’s a drink that I would grab at the gas station before I have to run errands or head to the beach to relax.

I really enjoyed the flavor and feeling this NA beverage gave me! I got why the brand calls this sensation "the float," because I honestly did feel very floaty and nice after one can, almost comparable to a nice glass of wine. When I first tried this product I still drank, but after recently taking a break from alcohol I've been craving another Hiyo to such a degree that I've had a case waiting in my cart for a hot minute. I've been waiting to pull the trigger, as the main barrier for me was cost ($45 for a pack of 12 cans.) However, now that I'm not buying wine or liquor regularly, the expense feels that little bit more justifiable.

Would love to know what medications it's safe to take with. I'd also like to see maybe some kind of tincture option as well in the future, so you could add the actives to your own beverages/water without extra packaging.

Love the blackberry lemon and watermelon lime! Beautiful cans and a great alternative to a beer.

Was really excited about this, but unfortunately there is no “float” feeling as described for me. I drank one and a fourth can and then got real sick to my stomach and threw up. Could be just the carbonation, I guess. But I have a very strong stomach and never really get sick like that. It was very surprising. It did make me sleepy.. but I feel like melatonin would do the same thing.

I'm basing this review on one can. Watermelon lime. I'm 8 years sober and I bought this thinking it was just another seltzer on the market but maybe with fruit juice and some other natural additives. Then I get home...take a drink and start reading about the float. My eyes go big. Did I just relapse!!? Please rethink marketing heavily on this "Float" thing. Some people feel it some people don't. It's a relaxing drink I would have preferred I not known anything about it or that it was created to be an alcohol alternative because now I'm equating it to alcohol and not sure I want to buy another can. Can you allow your product to just stand out on it own? Retract the float ...I see addicts are already downing massive amounts just to feel something. Do you want your product to go the way of Kratom ...it this a designer drug. .or is it just a beverage? Drug or Beverage. Until I find out I'm not finishing my can I had 3 sips of. It was delicious but I'm unsettled. Rethink how you are selling this please. Update: I have a headache. If there's a physiological reaction to your product then it's a drug. I'm concerned Hiyo is selling a product that is a drug to people in recovery as an alternative and that's very concerning and makes me mad. I've worked very hard for my sobriety. If you are in recovery do not drink this product. It hasn't been deemed a drug...yet.

you should really look more into the ingredients of things you ingest instead of blaming it on marketing.. which you said you didn't even look into before purchasing. it says "feel the float" On the can. anyway do you drink coffee at the meetings? you mustve relapsed at least 365 times in those 8 years according to your logic

Basically overpriced nasty tasting carbonated juice which does not give you any type of "float" feeling. whatsoever.

These reviews honestly baffle me. I have been drinking Hiyos for over a year now. The ONLY thing that keeps me from drinking alcohol and I was a heavy drinker. These give me a real mood boost because placebo effects do not work for me. I cant drink non alcoholic wine and get over my alcohol cravings. I've cut my alcohol intake down by about 75% due to these little gems of a drink. I do agree expensive though. Overall though a true literal life saver for me.

Looking for something to drink other than wine at the end of the day. Not looking to get a buzz just something to relax with instead of tea. I drink one a night and I feel relaxed. I enjoy all the flavors. If I want a buzz I'll have wine on the weekend.

The flavors are pretty good (except for the bottom 1/5 of the peach mango… yuck on the sediment, ) but these dehydrate me and give me a crazy headache the next day that feels like an awful hangover. I’ve tried four times to be sure it was these because SO wanted an alternative to booze. :( At this price of around $4/can I don’t think feeling awful is acceptable.

I should have checked the reviews first. I'll just paste the email correspondence and you decide. Me: I bought 4 cans of your drinks that advertised a “Float” at Sprouts for $16.00. I drank all 4 and there was no Float. To me, this was equivalent to a Liter of sparkling water from Trader Joe’s that sells for about $1.00. Before I leave negative reviews for your product, I want to give you an opportunity to respond and refund my purchase. Please respond. Response: Thanks for reaching out. First and foremost, I'm sorry to hear that you were unable to feel "the float." Out of curiosity, did you drink just one can or did you drink multiple in a sitting? I ask because we usually recommend drinking more than one can to feel the full effect of "the float." That being said, Hiyo affects everyone differently based on tolerance of the ingredients and your physical condition during consumptions in regards to stress, food, and sleep. As in the name, adaptogens "adapt" to each person differently. Some feel "the float" more subtly and some feel it more pronounced. This experience is similar to alcohol where some people need just one cocktail whereas others need multiple to feel any sort of buzz. I have to say, we have some of the highest dosages per can of ashwagandha, lion's mane, L-theanine, and cordyceps of any drink on the market, so I know the feeling is there. I also know Hiyo works because of the countless people who have either through reviews or in-person said how much they love the relaxing yet uplifting feeling that Hiyo gives them. We choose to incorporate the adaptogens and nootropics we did because they are natural, safe, and non-habit forming. If you're looking for something strong, I'd suggest looking into kava kava drinks, however kava kava can become addictive. Unfortunately, I am not able to offer you a refund because we don't have any control of the product when we hand it over to Sprouts. You may be able to return it to your local Sprouts for a refund. I'm sorry that I can't be more helpful here. Thank you for your interest in Hiyo. Gratefully, the hiyo team drinkhiyo.com #neverwasted

All Hype -- no "float" and not great flavor. I was excited about these until I got them. #1 - AFTER I bought a 3 pack of them from Hiyo, I found out I can order them from WALMART and NOT pay shipping! So, bummer #1. Then I tried the flavors. To say the least, they are NOT flavorful. Just expensive, watered down fruit juice with some carbonation. Now for the "float".... well, there wasn't one. Felt absolutely nothing - well - not true --- I felt I was scammed and felt angry with myself that I actually believed this nonsense. DO NOT BOTHER buying these.

I have the blackberry lemon and LOVE the taste. After 3 I start to feel the float. It’s a good feeling. BUT the next day I feel like I’m hungover. Not terribly like with alcohol but I have a headache. I’m glad I saw other reviews that said they also got a headache, I felt validated! I will definitely NOT drink these during the week when I have to get up for work. I rated 4 because I do love the taste and the float feeling but don’t like the next day feel.

I love Hiyo. It’s a guilt-free drink for social events - people are always super curious about it and I can leave a party feeling better than I came. Love this product!

1st let me say, this product is AMAZING, the float is the best anxiety killer without drinking! The company ships fast and when they mix up your order, they fix it no questions asked! I am a repeat customer, and pray this becomes available in stores and bars very soon!

Just a waste of money, an after I left a bad review somehow all of a sudden my credit became compromised. An this is the only place I used it. So now I have someone trying to charge on my card all over the place. I wish I would have never ordered from them.

This product made me so sick to my stomach. Would NOT recommend.

Absolutely love these! I’ve replaced drinking seltzers (Truly, Topo Chico, etc) with this. You can definitely”feel the float” into your second drink. I absolutely love them.

Tasted good, and felt calm, but I was awake all night. Wondering if this is a night time drink or a daytime drink.
