Reviews mention

  • Noticeable itch relief and comfort
  • Shinier, softer canine coats
  • Improved stool consistency, digestion
  • Visible boost in energy, mobility
  • Strong, off-putting chew smell
  • Inconsistent palatability for picky dogs
  • Reports of diarrhea or vomiting
  • Occasional overly hard chew texture

Dog is Human earns largely positive reviews for improving dogs’ itching, coat shine, energy, digestion, and even mobility over several weeks, with many picky eaters treating the multivitamin chews like treats. Reviews also flag real drawbacks: some dogs refuse the strong smell/taste, others experience diarrhea, vomiting, or worsened allergies, and a few concerns cite hard/stale texture or ingredient objections (e.g., citric acid) indicating inconsistent tolerability.

  • My pit bull has severe skin allergies and Apoquil does nothing for him. Dog is Human advertises that it will replace those meds. After four days, he was so inflamed and sore and itching more than ever. Went back to Greek yogurt, coconut oil baths and coconut oil rubs and stopped Dog is Human. Sorry. Worst thing I ever bought. My poor boy

  • I’ve been giving this to my 1 yr old chihuahua for about 4 months. He loves it as a topper on his food! Since I started him on this he has the most soft hair and skin. Not sure what else it’s doing inside but I’ll definitely keep using this!

  • This brand was awesome and my dogs loved their multivitamin! I had the chance to work with them on a collaboration a few months ago and the people that work there were so nice and had wonderful customer service! Highly recommend.

  • Worse customer service and return policy

I started my 3 yr old 70 lb German shepherd female on the Dog is Human supplements. Almost immediately she had soft stool that turned into diarrhea. I reached out to the customer service and was encouraged to continue for the 30 days. My vet directed that we stop the supplement immediately. We did. My dogs issues cleared up a couple of days latter. I reached out to Dog is Human and was asked how many unopened bottles I had to return. How would I have any unopened bottles. Stay away from this company. If they won't stand behind their product, they are not worth doing business with.

  • Itching bum

I had to have my dogs anal glands expressed due to excessive licking of her bum. Not sure if it has to do with the vitamins or not but it's the first time she's been licking her bum excessively. I got the vitamin so she'd stop licking her paws and that hasn't worked either and now I have the licking of her bum. Having her glands express helped.

Please note later they sent me more of it on a card that I had declined and they will not let me ship it back nor will they reimburse me the $43 Dog is Humanis a terrible company! I strongly urge you not to purchase from them. You also do not have a phone number to call and they send you rude emails

  • My dog eats them like treats. She gets bad allergies so I got these for her. Her fur looks very shiny now, no itching or scratching, and no bald spots. I will keep giving them to her, as long as it helps her skin. Definitely would recommend!

  • My husband purchased these for our 15 lb terrier. Buddy (terrier) is currently fed a very good quality commercially produced human-grade dog food that arrives in a box a couple times a month. Our vet is very pleased with it. It already has all the vitamins he needs. I'm not a Veterinary professional but I am a yoga teacher with 16 years of teaching experience as well as over 2,000 hours of training which includes anatomy And physiology. Although there's not a direct translation, there are enough similarities to where I understand research papers about animals. In the yoga community we see a lot of vitamins and supplements come and go so I know how to research them properly. My first alert about Dog Is Human vitamins is there's too much vitamin A in it for our dog with what he's getting now. I told my hubs this has way too much vitamin A for our dog. My husband did not listen. He started supplementing our dog 3 days ago. Yesterday we noticed that he was trembling and he did not want to walk. This is very unusual for him, he loves walking. And he has never trembled before. If it is being caused by these vitamins then it is a is a precursor to seizure. This morning he was still trembling, although less strongly. I told my husband we're not going to give our dog those vitamins anymore. He agreed. He's pretty bummed because they're expensive but you know we'd rather have a happy living dog than not. I will follow up to confirm that stopping Dog Is Human vitamins stops the trembling issue, but The coincidence of the trembling and fatigue both occurring about the same time as his first few doses is highly suspect. Please consult your vet before you give your dog any vitamins. Thank you.

  • my dog is licking her paws more then before, it's horrible non stop and rubbing butt more. and softer poops I would not recommend based on this. waste of money, going back to Paws allergy chews

  • My dog (rescue - mixed breed, 20lbs) wouldn't eat it unless I broke it up in tiny pieces. Even then she didnt care so much so I didn't get to see the affects on her. She usually isnt picky about soft treats so this is surprising. For example, she loves her monthly heart worm meds. Too pricey for the hassle of getting her to eat it.

  • My pit bull has been on the supplement for 3 weeks and it's caused her allergies to flare up worse than ever. She's constantly licking her paws and scratching her belly. Customer service is now trying to say it's for a dog's overall health not for allergies even though many of the adds and social media posts are promoting it to help with allergies. Then they recommended I give it 6-8 weeks. She would be raw if I continue to use it. Nothing else has changed in her diet or environment for me to suspect anything else. DO not waste your money on this.

I'm glad I seen your comment because the same thing is happening with my bully and this is the only new thing that has been added to his diet. I'm very disappointed because these vitamins are not cheap 😕

  • I had to crumble this up in my dogs food to get her to eat it, she did not gobble it up like all the dogs in their ads. Also, citric acid is one of the ingredients and is made from mold. Why would they add citric acid made from mold I can’t be good for a dog it’s not good for humans, I think the concept is great but the ingredients list needs to remove harmful substances. I asked them to let me know when they take citric acid out of the formula.

  • The biscuit stinks horribly! How can you think this is acceptable. It’s supposed to be human grade, and I wouldn’t eat this if you paid me. Why do you have to make it smell like beef organs?!? It’s not necessary to flavor this supplement so strongly to mask whatever you’re hiding. I had hoped for something better than this. Will not be reordering since only 1 out of 3 dogs are the only one eating it.

    Feedback

Don’t flavor it. Let it be in its natural state. It’s got to be better than what it is.

  • My dog ate one but would not eat another after that My dog eats anything, but he won't eat these. The first day he did eat one and he vomited shortly thereafter. I did not relate it to the vitamins until the next day when I offered him another and he would not eat it. They do not smell good either. Also, I wrote a review on their website but they won't post it because it's negative. How interesting that is. So now I am spreading the word.

  • My dog which is a Maltipoo has started having diarrhea after two days of taking Dog is Human supplements. I don’t think I’ll continue giving him them anymore. I’ll see if I can return them. UPDATE: Requested a refund and after several emails it was granted. The product just didn’t agree with my dog.

  • So far so good. I have a 6 year old Rottweiler who has several allergies and although her allergies are not unbearable for her or us, I still want to make her feel as healthy and happy as possible so I've tried many things to alleviate her occasional itching and chewing. Mostly , Zyrtec has been the most helpful and the least expensive but these vitamins seem to be helping a lot. I'm going to finish the bottle and see how it improves.

  • Reaction to Dog is Human vitamin

Hello, I have an active 15 year old golden, 65lbs. I started giving the vitamins, I bottle in. Now we are seeing excessive drinking and urinating. Appetite had slowed. Thoyghts?

  • I very rarely do reviews but I am SHOCKED!! Never did I really expect this to work so well. I mean nothing ever does. Not injections, apoquel, steroid cream, medicated shampoo… My dogs allergies are so severe he’s kicked the skin off his paws. Apoquel stopped his constant itching but he was still miserable. This stuff works. I wish I would’ve taken a before picture. His hair is growing back through his black raw skin that I thought were scars or something. Now considering stopping the apoquel. It’s only been 3 weeks tho. Maybe I’ll wait a while longer.

Have you ever had your dogs thyroid tested? The signs of the black raw skin is a sign thyroid disease

  • My dog will not eat that unless it cracked or cut into a little piece as it’s too hard. After taken for a 3 week the symptoms were worsening. My dog start to reaching stretching and licking mire than before. Will definitely not recommend this product.

  • Although shipping is free, it shouldn’t take a week to get them to USPS. By the time I receive them, I won’t need them anymore.

  • My 2 shih tzus absolutely love this product. One of them has "tummy issues" which have seriously lessened in the month they've been taking them. This has lessened him having to take medicine for his digestion problems. I'm thrilled.
