DECEM {Def: TEN Latin} English des-em. A new range of 10% light spirits. We proudly manufacture in England, keeping supply chains local: from the development lab in Hackney, to the bottle plant in Yorkshire, via the distillery in the Suffolk countryside. DECEM was born to give modern drinkers a natural alcohol spirit and subsequent lighter alternative to the usual. To embrace the philosophy of less is better and empower everyone to enjoy the benefits of alcohol without drinking too much. We discovered the perfect balance between alcohol and taste was around 10%, with the liquid capable of retaining complex flavours yet allowing for easy drinking day and night. Off the back of this insight we defined the business around 10% ABV. Easy to understand, light enough to make a real difference, while still packed a punch on taste. We have three initial expressions: Introducing….. LONDON DRY Made with Distilled Botanicals ABV: 10% We didn’t just want to recreate the classic, we wanted to devise one to be standalone. The unique combination of botanicals are steeped for 24 hours then distilled, capturing all the essential oils and big flavours. Before being masterfully blended with natural flavourings to boost the character and provide a long finish at 10%. Nose: Dry berry with aromatic juniper fruit, herby notes, coriander seed (citrus/green), an all round freshness. Taste: Upfront Juniper berry, authentic woody juniper with more of a floral berry coming through the mid palate, coriander seed in the middle, finishing with woody spiced backnotes. Introducing…… SPICED BLEND Made with Caribbean Rum ABV:10% Blending a duo of light and white Caribbean rums from Martinique and Dominican Republic as the smooth base. Spices and natural flavours are then added and the mix is allowed to steep for 2 days to draw out all of the flavour before being cut back to 10% giving a light spirit with a big impact both on the nose and the taste buds. Nose: Dark vanilla toffee, rich spices throughout, hints of tobacco, tropical fruit finish. Taste: Deep caramel, complex savoury spice, rounded sweet and buttery throughout with a hint of fruit. Introducing…… APERITIF Made with Heritage Botanicals ABV:10% Using a special combination of botanicals, from the hedgerow to the vegetable patch. Chosen to create that lip smacking bitterness, but cleverly rounded off with the tart strawberry and sweet grape to create the most adult and uniquely moreish of aperitifs. We macerate the botanicals for 2 days to extract maximum flavour, before carefully blending with the real fruit juices to create this distinctly delicious flavour. Nose: Intricate woody botanicals, chamomile floral, gentian, grape undertones, guelder rose sits on top. Taste: Complex woody and herbal, full bodied guelder rose with slight floral characters. Sweet grape with a moreish bitter finish.
