Reviews mention

  • Streamlined onboarding experience
  • Clearer, smoother skin results
  • Gentle, fragrance-free cleanser
  • Convenient prescription accessibility
  • Irritating, drying formulations
  • Inconsistent, impersonal clinician communication
  • Finicky, opaque packaging design
  • Over-frequent, wasteful shipments

Curology earns polarized reviews: many report clearer skin within weeks and praise the streamlined, prescription-based routine and gentle basics, while others see no improvement or worsening irritation, dryness, and breakouts. Reviews also cite customizable formulas and convenient onboarding as strengths but flag impersonal clinician rotation, questionable “customization,” over-frequent shipments, small or finicky packaging, and aggressive billing as drawbacks—useful context if deciding between Curology and an in-person dermatologist.

  • It's a Grift! My Honest Experience with Curology's 'Custom' Rosacea Treatment As someone who has long struggled with rosacea, a perplexing and chronic inflammatory skin condition, I was intrigued by Curology's promise of a tailored treatment plan. They advertise a personalized approach, supposedly creating a bespoke formulation after a consultation with a designated "dermatologist." However, my experience has left me feeling misled and disappointed. To set the context, rosacea is a condition shrouded in mystery within the dermatological community, and effective treatment remains a significant challenge. The allure of a custom treatment protocol specifically for my unique skin condition was undeniably appealing. Sadly, the reality didn't live up to the promise. Upon engaging with Curology, I was presented with a treatment that was far from the personalized solution I was led to expect. Instead, what I received was a familiar cocktail of medications – the same duo of topicals (Ivermectin and Metronidazole) that I've encountered time and again in my journey with rosacea. There was nothing novel or custom about it. It was simply a compound of the standard medications, mixed into a single cream at a compounding pharmacy, located, of all places, in Fenton, Missouri. To add insult to injury, they threw in Azelaic acid, which just enraged my already inflamed skin. This experience has reinforced a crucial lesson: skepticism is warranted when it comes to bold claims in skincare, especially for conditions as complex as rosacea. While the idea of a tailored treatment is enticing, my experience with Curology was a stark reminder that, at least in my case, it was more of a marketing angle than a medical reality. I share this in the hope that it might provide valuable insight for others navigating the challenging waters of rosacea treatment. Oh, and they will 100% refuse your unopened return. Candidly, to sum it all up: Curology—and the other snake oil websites out there—are run by exceptionally shitty humans, which makes it important to approach such promises with caution and to maintain realistic expectations, especially when it comes to a condition as elusive and individual as rosacea.

  • When I used it consistently it worked pretty well. I just don't think it's worth the price. They make you buy it for every two months but the product does not last two months. It last me a little over a month. Read some where "you only need to use a little bit" but when I tried to use less it didn't really cover my whole face. So idk. It worked, I'm just disappointed with how much you get compared to how much it cost. When I opened the bottle of the special face wash it wasn't even a full bottle, like it had a false bottom, and only 1/3 of it actually had cleanser. Which makes me think they're trying to trick people into thinking you're getting more than you actually are

  • Curology was ok at first. $60 for the set and the personalize it based on a survey and pictures. The set lasted a little over 2 months. I still have breakouts and have asked them to change stuff off and on which they will but I’m not sure if any of it worked better. After about a year, the product suddenly started running out in about a month and the price went up to $80/set without warning. I asked them about this and no response. There is no easy way to cancel on the site and I don’t know where the reviews come from because you can’t really review from your account on the site. Very sketchy stuff.

  • They say 90day returns ,but that is not true. I sent unopened packed back to them and received nothing.

  • Started working immediately for me, with no purging or irritation at all. The provider worked with me to find the best formula, and was super responsive and helpful. This was my last try at something to help my hormonal acne that started in my 30s, and I'm so glad I tried it. Definitely worth the price and it feels so nice on my skin!

  • I get a " free sample " first month and I was supposed get a charge after my first month of having the creams, but I have a reaction, I try to cancel my membership and either way I have a charge of $160 dollars, for what, for my "free sample " this is horrible scam, just trying to get your credit card info.

  • I used this product religiously for about a year, following all the recommendations by my dermatologist. I knew it would take some time for my skin to get use to the product, but my acne honestly just got worse and my skin became extremely dry and extremely sensitive.. & when I would change my formula, it just caused negative reactions to happen to my skin. A positive is that the dermatologists are super helpful, kind, and listened to my needs. The product sadly just isn’t close to being worth the amount of money they charge you..

  • Terrible. I tried the trial and it wasn’t even enough to last 2 weeks! Anything that is to be tested takes a minimum of a full 2-3 weeks. The product is in different pump bottles that stop working. It’s not feasible. There are other companies that use better product development for less money. When I tried to break down what was happening to each bottle the “medical expert” went around my concern. Not professional.

  • Great experience. I saw results within a couple months. I loved how you could pause your subscription if you weren't out of the product yet. Their customer service is also excellent.

  • So far the product seems to be working. I plan to keep my membership and invest in the product. My issue is with the sunscreen. As a darker skinned person it turns my face a lavendar/blue tint and that is not acceptable. It's bad enough I hafta walk and with acne all over my face but now I gotta have purple/blue? Nah! I've had resort to a sunscreen more appropriate for my skin tone. I'm really disappointed in this aspect of the product. My acne seems to be be slowly clearing up though. And my dermatologist have good advice

    Feedback

The sunscreen is not appropriate for darker skin tones. Turns my face lavendar

  • My experience was pretty good. I liked how easy it was to get going and speak to a dermatologist whenever I felt the need to. I used the subscription for anti-aging benefits and often ended up with a bit too much product left over before my next subscription.

    Feedback

It felt a bit expensive but when you take into account dermatologist visit costs, filling at a pharmacy etc It seems to even out. Maybe not so much product sent out at once.

  • This is online, I did not know that going in! But this worked for me so quickly. I had to stop for a little bit because we had a death in the family but I cannot wait to renew my subscription!

    Feedback

I wish I could have done a video call with a doctor but they still helped me a lot! Thank you Curology!

  • I really like that your formula is completely customizable to your skincare needs. It’s also really affordable.

    Feedback

It’s really disappointing that Curology doesn’t have an app. On top of that, the website isn’t organized in a way that’s all that user friendly. I also really dislike how impersonal, and sometimes unfriendly, the providers can be, and wish that I could speak w/ an MD instead of an NP. Their formulation tends to pill on the skin, too, and doesn’t absorb as easily as Ro’s formulation. Lastly, Curology takes significantly longer to ship than Ro. I’ll honestly probably switch back to Ro if they ever add azelaic acid to their ingredient options.

  • It literally changed my skin. I don't think my skin has ever been this alive and I'm 42.

    Feedback

I really liked it. I just wish it could be customized after awhile.

  • I used Curology for a couple years. It did a lot of things for me. It cleared up my skin a lot, reduced redness, and helped me create a skincare routine that was simple and effective. I will say, I grew out of it though. I hit a ceiling with my skin where it wasn’t getting better past a certain point. But I’m grateful it helped me to improve my skin a lot. But if you know what you’re doing, you can probably get similar results at a better price point.

  • Like everyone else it worked really well for a few months in fact it was fantastic! Then about 4-6 months into it the formula changed and was super grainy, drying and ineffective. I asked them if they changed anything and of course they said no. I simply don’t believe that honestly the difference was remarkable enough to notice in texture and performance. So I cancelled but those first few months I was very pleased.

  • I have been using this product for almost 4 years. A year ago I would have rated it a 5. It got rid of my acne, acnes scars and kept my skin clear. Recently my skin has been breaking out horribly and nothing has changed. I dont know if my skin is no longer responding or id the product itself changed. I noticed a while back the address for the lab change from CA to MO. I wonder if this had somwthing to do wtih it. Sadly I thought I had found the holy grail for my never ending adult acne. But I am about to cancel and start looking for something new.

  • Curology has changed my skin. I had horrible cystic acne and since using curology, my skin has completely transformed.

  • Didn't make any difference. I have always had very bad acne, and during my product roulette days, I tried this after Proactiv not working. This made my skin slightly softer, but that's it. No improvement. I used it for about 2.5 months and cancelled. (FYI, no "acne cure" skin care products ever worked for me and I tried just about everything. I'm currently on accutane and it's the only thing that's ever helped me. Maybe it works for people with very mild acne. But it's not at ALL the cure-all they promise).
