Reviews mention

  • Hilarious, high-energy gameplay
  • Simple, accessible ruleset
  • Engaging, social experience
  • Abundant, creative expansions
  • Explicit, polarizing content
  • Diminishing shock value
  • Occasionally outdated references
  • Audience-dependent enjoyment

Cards Against Humanity wins big in reviews for delivering uproarious, easy-to-learn party play that sparks belly laughs, quick bonding, and late-night chaos—especially with larger groups and expansion packs—so yes, it works. Reviews also flag clear drawbacks: humor can be crass/NSFW and alienating for sensitive or mixed-age crowds, cards lose shock value with repetition, and some prompts feel dated or hard to play with certain audiences.

  • Cards against humanity game as such an amazing and fun game to play with anyone. I love that cards against humanity keeps on innovating and coming out with different expansion packs and by combining those expansion packs with the original game there's a game that never gets old and boring.

  • A fun game. The joke style does get old if you play over and over again. But it's a great game and will definitely provide some laughs.

  • This game is nutty it makes you say things you might never say.

  • "Cards Against Humanity" is hilariously outrageous and definitely not for the faint of heart. If you're into twisted jokes and aren't afraid to cross a few lines for a laugh, this game is gold. The rules are easy, but the real fun comes from the wildly inappropriate (and unexpectedly brilliant) card combos that players come up with. It's the kind of game that pushes boundaries, gets everyone laughing, and makes game night unforgettable. A go-to for anyone who enjoys their humor with a dark twist.

  • Very creative work by whoever that made it. My friends and I always like to play this game while drunk or just hanging out. We have a lot of fun thinking about what random thing could possibly come up.

  • The game is easy to learn and plays fast, but it’s the twisted combinations of cards that make it so memorable. It’s not for the faint of heart, as the humor can be pretty edgy, but that’s exactly what makes it so fun! Whether you’re at a party or just hanging out with close friends, this game guarantees some pretty unforgettable moments.

  • Fun game to play with friends during hangouts or during holidays! I love seeing the different combinations of cards and this definitely makes a great conversation starter!

  • Honestly this game has never been fun, maybe I'm just too weird or played with the wrong people? I think the purpose is to be as risque and silly as possible like the instructions imply, but everyone always tries to pick the most "appropriate" answer so it ends up just being weird and a little boring.

  • So I bought this as a sort of wedding gift before. To be honest it may not be the best wedding gift, but it was something to play after the wedding. In general it can kind of get a bit old. Sometimes I think I'm too old for it.

  • Omg a must buy, and you have to buy the dirty expansion packs, they are hilarious! Bring these over to a friends house and gear up for a fun night ahead. Works best when you have min 3, max 6-7 people playing.

  • It's a fun game, I just think as a spinoff of Apples to Apples, the original gives more room for creativity and more versatility in humor styles. Cards Against Humanity is just so specific in its approach that you have to go raunchy and edgy with it to play, and it's more often that the joke is funny because of the card they give you, rather than allowing the player creativity in the choice of cards to pair to create a joke. It's more, haha look at this wild card than look I came up with something clever and funny.

  • Haha this game is a classic for a reason. There is a website you can make your own free but it is always nice to purchase from the original group in order to support the person who had the idea for it.

  • This is a fun game to play with a partner or group of friends. I’ve tried playing through the internet version and it was pretty fun. I recently bought the physical card version of the game and have had a great time so far playing with my partner

  • I played this at the height of the craze. It gets old fast. It depends on who you play against too, I guess. The cards are funny, but they've added too many over-the-top shock cards. Oh, you played a good combo but someone else played Daniel Radcliffe's delicious butthole?

  • Absolutely love Cards Against Humanity! It’s always a hit at game night. It's super funny and the perfect mix of clever and ridiculous. Never fails to get everyone laughing. Total favorite in my house among the adults.

  • It's pretty fun to play but after a couple play throughs with the same people the cards can get kinda stale. I guess that's just the nature of the game, but it does make it less versatile compared to many other party games.

  • Who has not heard of such an iconic card game? I have used and pull these cards out so many times at functions and they never failed to get a laugh out of any of my friends whether they are super fun or stoic

  • Such a classic game to play with friends - especially over drinks! I've played this with both new and old friends, and always get some fun insights into the group. Pretty endless options and it's always "interesting" to see what someone will come up with!

  • Cards Against Humanity is always a hit with my older family members. It has made for a lot of laughs and fun at family gatherings!
