Founder Diana Ark Chen fell in love with bubble tea in college but stopped drinking it completely once she found out that 1 16oz cup of her favorite flavor had over 400 calories and 50g of sugar (the equivalent of drinking 3 cans of Coke and over 12 packs of sugar). She missed boba so much that she created her own better-for-you version so she didn't have to sacrifice her healthy lifestyle for a taste of boba.
