I’ve had a Breville Barista Express for nearly a year now. After using a basic Nespresso machine for years, the bar was low, and I was expecting low-to-mid quality espresso from this. I was surprised almost immediately. The built-in grinder is even better at espresso grind than my $200 grinder I use for pourovers, and the standard portafilter is sufficient for a solid shot. I get nice crema 90% of the time, and can pull shots back to back without worrying at all. I wasn’t an espresso guy before this, but it now has a permanent home on my coffee bar.
