  • I found these when I was browsing at World Market (who claims to have the largest collection of Swedish candy in store). I was surprised at how soft and chewy they were (in the good way), similar to the Albanese Candy Factory gummies I really enjoy. My friend got the Sour Elderberry Fish to try and she enjoyed them, too. We both agreed that they are not as sour as we'd like, but otherwise, they're great!

  • Okay so I hate gummies because of the sugar, stickiness to the teeth, and preservatives/artificial ingredients BUT DAMN. You can literally taste the difference in quality and taste. You can actually taste the flavor for what it is. Mind blowing. Expensive for sure. Worth it? I think so - depends on what’s important to you I guess.

  • Love love love Bon Bon. You can catch me there every week. There is a huge variety of candies from candy to chocolate to licorice but my go to are the bubs of course. I even got my dog a dog toy from here because why not. The pink bags are so cute as well.

  • The texture is firm, almost waxy and the scent is strong, almost perfumey like those tiny slide top tinned strawberry lip glosses I used as a child in the eighties. However the flavor is hard to describe but dare I say I detect a note of fish? Despite being all natural they leave an oily synthetic fishy overly sugary strawberry flavor on the tongue. I’m wondering a batch of rancid coconut oil was used in manufacture. I am not one to ever throw out candy even when it’s questionable but yikes, these are truly disgusting. I bought these for a movie outing to share with a friend and her two teenaged daughters. I was the only one who went in for a second round for writing the review. The girls said they had seen them on Instagram. Go figure - overpriced well designed packaging with a crappy product inside. Overall these are an expensive waste of money. We would have been better off with a bag of Swedish swimmers from TJ’s.

  • I really like BonBon candy — the flavors are fun and the candy is tasty. My only gripe is that they rarely have the flavors I want, which is a bit disappointing. Still, when I do find my favorites, it’s a treat!

  • I’m a huge fan of BonBon’s gummy products - their sour fish are some of my favorite candies of all time. I was thrilled to see that they’d released an advent calendar this year. Spoiler: there are no gummies in the calendar. It seems to be a mix of chocolates and hard candies from Sweden. Definitely enjoyable but ultimately not what I was hoping for.

  • Their store ambiance is so adorable - it really makes this a whole experience. Fortunately though you can order online, and they're open until midnight which is great for a late night treat in NYC. Most of their candies are great! It really is personal preference when it comes down to taste and texture, but the fact that the ingredients are more whole and a lot are naturally GF and gelatin is a huge bonus. My personal favorites are the pink bubs so I would recommend starting there :)

  • Tried a packet of the sour blackberry Swedish fish and they were delishious. The sour is fairly subtle - just enough that you get a small hit when you first bite in but not lingering - so no burnt tongue when you give in and eat half a packet in one go. Definitely going to be repurchasing and am interested in trying the other flavors too.

  • I absolutely adore BonBon. I've been a repeat customer for several years, and living in New York, I visit their brick-and-mortar store. They have a friendly, very helpful and knowledgeable staff, and their candy selection is excellent. I am a huge fan of very chewy, very sour candy and they are my go-to. In particular, I recommend the sour S Patches, the Sour Tongues, and Sour Pacifiers. They import all their goods from Sweden, so there is a markup on the prices, but 100% worth it for me.

  • I was lucky enough to live in NYC when they first opened BonBon. The store (now stores) is adorable, the team is kind and helpful, and the candy is fresh and delicious. My mom's from Sweden, so it was a dream being able to get candies I grew up eating without having to bring them back from overseas. If you're close enough to go to the store, go for your first purchase at least because they're great at walking you through items you may not know and showing you candies you may never heard of but would like based on your favorite flavors and textures. The online experience isn't quite figured out yet, though. They have a hard time keeping items in stock if you know what candies you like and want to order something in particular. Signing up for the emails does help and they do try to notify people when they have popular candies back in stock. You can tell they're really trying to keep up with the demand. I think they do compensate well for that by offering some really great mixes. I recently ordered the Jelly/Marshmallow Mix, and the array was awesome and included one that was new to me and is now a favorite. In the past, they've also been really receptive to comments on your order asking for a particular candy or flavor.

  • We always have make a special trip to Bon Bon whenever we are in New York City. Their candy is so delicious and tastes nothing like American candy- it is a Swedish candy store. Every different kind of their candy from the sweet bibs to their sour candy tastes amazing!
