4 February 2021:

Brands spotted

This week, we’ve spotted a jewellery line that starts at $20, a beauty brand that wants to rent its packaging to you, and a hormone-tracking app that comes with a smart pill case.

We also spotted two new hair-care brands. The first, Headquarters, is a scalp-care brand from Harry’s Labs, a brand incubator owned by shaving company Harry’s. Harry’s has launched a number of brands in recent years (Flamingo, a women's shaving company and pet food brand Cat Person) and has plans to add to its portfolio (we have more on the "house of brands" strategy here). The second is Ruka, a hair extensions brand for black women, that quizzes its consumers in order to give them a personalised recommendation as to which of its products will most closely match their hair texture.
