Brands spotted
More than a decade on from creating the RXBAR, a wildly successful product that was acquired by Kelloggs for $600 million, founder Peter Rahal is at it again. His new protein brand David launched its debut product this week — a protein bar containing 28g protein, no sugar or gluten, and just 150 calories. It pitches itself as protein “perfected”.
Rahal’s doing things a little differently this time, though. While RXBAR was a bootstrapped business (the two founders each put $5,000 into the business and grew it from there), David has already raised $10 million. It won't just be sticking to bars, either. The idea is to move into a range of food products that “increase muscle and decrease fat”. We’ve seen these bars floating around on social media a lot — if you’ve tried one, let us know how they are.
We’ve also found some fancy pantry items for you, plus a perfume brand that’s hoping its relatability gives it a strong USP.
