Reviews mention

  • Exceptionally warm winter jackets
  • Durable, long-lasting backpacks
  • Lightweight yet insulating outerwear
  • Reliable cold-weather performance
  • Inconsistent rainwear coating durability
  • Wind-permeable basic fleece layers
  • Occasional seam unraveling reports
  • Conservative, less-fashionable styling

The North Face earns strong reviews for lasting warmth, resilient outerwear, and hardworking backpacks, indicating the brand performs well for cold weather and outdoor use; however, critiques cite inconsistent durability in some pieces (peeling raincoat, unraveling seams), wind penetration in basic fleece, and frustrations with warranty service. Reviews highlight dependable parkas, puffers, and the Recon backpack, but note that styling can feel basic and some prefer competitors for performance or aesthetics.

  • Amazing uninsulated windbreaker from TNF

Bought because it rolls up to tiny package under my shoulderbag (travel). More than once it has saved me, or at least the job of carrying a winter coat. In just-above-freezing and windy/cold/wet it gives full protection with just a tee shirt and a light sweater underneath. On the negative side, the white paint lining all flakes off after a while and can get on my clothes, but it doesn't affect properties. My first one did that and I sent it in and got a free jacket (guarantee) The second one did it and I don't care.

  • Ive bought many The North Face products over the years and to this day I still have all of the items in perfect condition. I have had my jackets and windbreakers since I was 14 and I am still able to have them in my usual rotation.

  • Have some clothing and it’s very nice quality is good fits nice to body and keeps warm I like their stuff
