If you're an artist, you probably know Strathmore - it's a classic, standard-to-high quality brand at an affordable price. The best paper I've ever painted on? Nah, but it does the job for everyday use and you can usually get good deals on it at Michaels.

Strathmore makes a variety of great quality papers that meet the needs of any artists. They have papers designed for painting (watercolor and acrylic) drawing, mixed media, printmaking and everything in between. I personally love their Printmaking Paper Pad and use it for my linocuts all the time. The paper is the perfect thickness and the easy tear feature of the pad makes tearing out the number of pieces you need for a individual project flawless.
