  • Sustained, jitter-free energy
  • Notably improved digestion
  • Surprisingly smooth flavor
  • Versatile, creamy preparations
  • Occasional gritty sediment
  • Earthy, polarizing taste
  • Dissolving can be difficult
  • Finicky resealable packaging

Ryze earns polarized reviews: many say it’s a satisfying coffee and matcha alternative that delivers calm, sustained energy, less bloating, improved digestion, and better sleep (especially the Mushroom Hot Cocoa), while detractors report gritty texture, earthy taste, little to no benefit, and difficulty dissolving. Reviews also praise the smooth, creamy flavor with creamer and versatile prep, but call out subscription complaints and packaging issues (hard-to-reseal bags).

  • Not good taste. Very mushroomy even for me.

  • I like that this is a healthier version of coffee made with mushrooms that is packed with nutrients. I need coffee or any sort of caffeine in the morning, and I like that this is does not make me feel guilty having caffeine.

  • This mushroom coffee is absolutely great. I have tried using it in my French press and I have made cold brew out out of it and I have made regular pot coffee out of it and it always tastes. Super delicious. I love the flavors.

  • I am not a huge fan of the "mushroom" products, but I did try this as well as a protein mix. The flavor was okay, I like the idea of it being a superfood. I would consider trying it in additional flavors.

  • Ryze Mushroom Coffee offers a smooth, sustained energy boost without the jitters, which I appreciate. The health benefits like improved focus and digestion are a nice bonus. However, the taste is a bit earthy and might not be for everyone, and the smell can be off-putting. It's also a bit pricey for what you get. Overall, it’s a solid alternative to regular coffee, but the flavor and cost might make it a tough sell for some.

  • How is this mushroom?? It tastes just like coffee…except there is less caffeine and gives me energy boost. The smell and taste is nutty. It also mixes well with creamer. I enjoy it both iced and hot, and mushroom coffee is my new obsession.

  • The taste is earthy and mellow (especially good with a splash of oat milk or your favorite creamer), and it’s super easy to mix. What really stands out is how balanced you feel—calm, focused, and ready to tackle the day.

  • What can I say I like mushroom coffee. I compare this to Foursigmatic. This doesn't dissolve as well, but I do get that mental clarity from it that I get from adaptogenic mushroom coffee. So overall can't complain too much.

  • I tried this mushroom coffee for the first time and I was really pleasantly surprised. I wasn’t sure how the flavor would be, but it tasted very nice and didn’t have an overwhelming mushroom flavor at all. It was a great coffee.

  • This coffee is delicious. The flavor is very rich and it does not taste like mushrooms at all. It gives me a lot of energy to start my day.

  • I am a huge coffee and espresso lover. This product was not great, it reminded me of drinking dirt water. The taste and texture was extremely off putting. I would rather drink instant coffee over this.

  • Very surprisingly, great tasting coffee, and lots of mushroom adaptogen benefits! I love this idea and brand mission. I’m was really excited to try something that is beneficial and tasted like coffee and provided that boot that I needed on top of other nutritional health benefits. it blended easily into my hot water and made for quick and tasty instant coffees.

  • My mom got me into this and I LOVE it! Was I skeptical of mushroom coffee at first? Yes. But I have never really liked the taste of regular coffee either and I like the benefits this purports to have. I found it quite tasty and I go through the bags easily.

  • in the last year I’ve been trying to cut down on coffee. It’s a hard task, but Ryze has made it slightly more manageable. The taste is good, not quite as good as my latte, but that’s to be expected.

  • I tried the mushroom coffee as I felt it might be easier on my stomach than regular coffee. I found it to have a nice flavor and didn't give me the stomach upsets like my usual morning cup of coffee. Never would have considered mushrooms for coffee before but it was great.

  • A fun trend and good alternative to the vice we know of as coffee, but slightly skeptical about this in general due to the lack of long term research and effects.

  • Tried this daily for about two months. It’s not bad — the taste is earthy and mild, and I can see the appeal if you’re trying to cut back on caffeine — but I didn’t really notice any difference in energy, focus, or mood. It’s definitely not coffee, so if you're expecting that bold flavor or caffeine buzz, you’ll probably be disappointed. But if you’re into functional mushrooms or want a gentler morning ritual, it might be worth a try. Just not something I’d personally repurchase.
