  • As an amateur oenophile, I'd like to think I know a little bit about wine. After sipping the Chardonnay blend produced by Revelshine, I am pretty confident I know more about wine than the team behind this brand, which other than the former winemaker of Limerick Lane Cellars in Healdsburg, California, comprises surfers, action sports personalities, and singer Donovan Frankenreiter. The bottle I tried ($12 for 500 mL (the typical off-the-shelf glass bottle is normally 750 mL)) had no balance, no subtlety, and no discernible flavor other than overpowering tartness and sourness. I have had bottles of two-buck Chuck that were incredible compared to this disaster. Yeah, it comes in a recyclable aluminum container, and there's a lot of claptrap about environmental impact and sustainability, but you have to have to start with a good product. This was not only not good, but far-and-away the worst white wine I have tasted this year.
