As a professional copywriter, your average Bic or PaperMate pen just doesn't do it for me: I want a high-quality writing instrument. Which is why I love Retro 1951 pens: superbly made, fun designs, affordably priced ($50–$80 on average), and, speaking from experience, great customer service. I'm partial to their rollerballs (I own and use over a dozen, depending upon my mood and what I'm writing), but they also have wonderful fountain pens. Their Tornado series has the perfect heft and hand-feel while providing smooth writing experience, and they're constantly coming out with fresh designs. Their tagline says it all: "Life is too short to carry an ugly pen!"
