Para Para’s name comes from the French for umbrella ‘parapluie’ and sun umbrella ‘parasol’. Para Para are a series of bold high end animated umbrellas which come to life when viewed through our special app. They can be filmed in real time and the videos can be easily shared. Founded by George Wu, a creative mind who loves to put a spin on everyday objects. She hails from Manchester UK, affectionally known as the ‘rainy city’. She is slightly obsessed with umbrellas and a staunch believer of the full-length variety. Our umbrellas are lovingly handmade by James Ince Umbrellas, the UK’s oldest umbrella maker, they have been making umbrellas for 215 years in Bethnal Green London.
