Oatly impresses in reviews for café-worthy performance—its Barista Edition froths reliably and delivers a creamy, smooth texture that elevates coffee, matcha, and lattes—while dividing opinion over formulation. Fans praise the rich mouthfeel, neutral-to-oaty flavor, and versatility across baking, cereal, and smoothies; critics cite seed/rapeseed oils, gums/additives, sweetness, and occasional digestive upset as drawbacks. Overall, Oatly is considered a top-tasting, highly consistent oat milk for beverages, but less appealing to buyers prioritizing ultra‑clean ingredients.
AI summary based on Thingtesting reviews
No other oat milk compares to Oatly. I know it has oils in it whatever. Nothing else compares to how creamy and delicious their barista blend is. I don't use any other sweetener in my coffee. It's perfect.
One of the best-tasting oat milks in beautiful packaging. Out of all the alterative milks I've tried, steaming Oatly feels most similar to steaming normal milk.
Tasty and froths well. Wish it didn’t have rapeseed oil and other unnecessary ingredients.
Feedback
Remove all the unnecessary ingredients and only use oats and water.

My favorite oat milk at the minute, I have a problem with non-dairy milks when I try to froth them for lattes and cappuccinos but oatly always froths well and has a good texture. The original in my opinion is better than the barista one.
Feedback
I wish the sugar content was lower.
One of my top 2 oat milk brands. I'm lactose intolerant and almond milk never really did it for me. When I would put it into my coffee, it would give it an extra toasted/burned flavor. Never had this problem with Oatly. I also eat it with cereal sometimes :)

Tasty, nothing more to say!
I think this is one of the mid line oat milks on the market. Taste is fine but it’s not as creamy as others on the market and doesn’t steam as well.
Feedback
Could be creamier and taste better.

I drink oat milk every morning in my coffee, and this is one of the better ones I have tried. The consistency can be a bit thick, but the flavor is delicious and the size is perfect for my small fridge.
Feedback
Not the best consistency I have tried, and contains some unnecessary additives.
It tastes fine but ton of artificial ingredients in it :(
Feedback
I would like to have more natural ingredients without adding a ton of chemicals
I love Oatly -- from its fun packaging and ads to the product itself. They are great in lattes, smoothies, etc.
Feedback
I don't like some of the ingredients in Oatly, like the rapeseed oil. I would love to see a 'cleaner' oatmilk from Oatly.
There’s no reason to drink dairy milk anymore, thanks to the rich and delicious flavor of Oatly. It’s almost no compromise (it doesn’t mix with iced coffee as well as other milks and milk alternatives).

Oatly is great and probably the best tasting oat milk you can get at the market currently. It is thick and delicious but high in calories
Feedback
Very high in calories, compared to say almond milk
Great for us lactose intolerant girlies!
the OG non-dairy milk alternative. brought the almond milk game to shame and set the oat milk bar high
Feedback
more straightforward ingredients
I steam milk regularly with a Breville espresso machine and the Oatly barista milk works pretty well for getting a nice froth. I've tried using other brands for an easy-to-froth oatmilk and have not had the same results as with this one.
Feedback
It's pretty pricey and I wish there were more size options.

I like oat milk a lot, and this is a solid oat milk. Not too sweet thankfully. and since I mainly use it in my coffee in the AM, I have no problem going through the smaller container.
Feedback
Maybe consider a half pint size for folks who use it even less frequently...
Oat milk is one of my favorite milk alternatives for coffee and tea. it's flavor is neutral enough that it doesn't distract from the drink. If you like to foam your milk for lattes I recommend oatly's barista version. Works like a charm.

Oatly is a solid oat milk choice. It's relatively neutral in flavor making it great for coffee drinks. Packaging is sustainable and comes in a small enough size that it can all be used before it goes bad. Oatly also lasts much longer than normal milk in the fridge.
THE BEST TASTING OATMILK! The barista edition is my favorite for matcha when I want a really creamy drink. I don't love the ingredients (why does milk need oil in it?) but the taste is a 11/10 for me

One of the best non-dairy milks I’ve tried. It doesn’t have a grainy or slimy texture that other oat milks might have.
