Reviews mention

  • Creamy barista-grade texture
  • Reliable foam stability
  • Neutral, balanced flavor
  • Versatile culinary performance
  • Additive-heavy ingredient list
  • Occasional digestive discomfort
  • Inconsistent sweetness perception
  • Watery texture in light versions

Oatly earns high marks in reviews for creamy, barista-friendly oat milks—especially Barista Edition and Full Fat—that steam, froth, and elevate coffee, tea, and baking, with many calling it the best-tasting oat milk. Reviews also flag drawbacks: some find certain versions watery or overly sweet, and many criticize the ingredient list (oils, gums, phosphates) and report digestive upset or blood-sugar spikes, while a minority prefer competitors’ thicker texture.

  • I drink oatly almost every day. My husband refuses to drink any other oat milk 🙄. The extra creamy is thick and luxurious- like drinking half and half. That said, I wish they’d come out with a oil and gum free version for the hippies! I prefer Three Trees’ IL, so I would opt for that if I lived alone, but my husband doesn’t like the taste.

    Please remove rapeseed oil 🙏

  • Purchased from one of the large supermarket chains here in Australia. Great packaging and brand copy. Has a premium positioning compared to other brands. The barista edition in particular is smooth and pleasant, the oat flavour is not over powering.

Price point does not make this an everyday option.

  • Pretty reliable milk alternative. They have a good range of other oat milk products too including cream and custard.

    Feedback

Less sugar, more sustainable sourcing of Oats.

  • One of the better oat milks around, especially in comparison to Minor Figures. Great branding with a strong voice too.

    Feedback

    Could be creamier.

  • It’s solves a problem. Tasty oatmilk which makes your cappuccino tasty.

    Feedback

It’s pretty pricey for daily use.

  • So many gums and fillers. I have a damaged gut so I need to be very thoughtful about what I put into my body and I will no longer drink oatly. Plus, they stopped using organic oats in all products and oats have one of the highest amounts of the pesticide glyphosate. Definitely look at ingredients before you buy!

    Feedback

I would love if they went back to exclusively using organic oats and removed gums and fillers.

  • Doesn't have a very strong taste, but thin consistency. Would need to add more than the recommended amount to make a latte.

  • Oatly delivers wonderful tasting products, consistently. As someone who switched to non-dairy as a milk-loving individual, I was always looking to find products that were easily available, not too expensive but also tasty, creamy, and delicious. Oatly gives you all that and is recognizable and fun to use.

    Feedback

It is still on the pricier side and I would love if there was a pre-warning about potential discoloration of the product.

  • Great taste, and I Iike the thickness of it. Makes it feel more like "real" milk.

    Feedback

    Nothing in my opinion.

  • One of the most flavorsome alt-milks I've tried. Works really well in coffee.

  • The best-textured oat milk in the market. Its viscosity is perfect!

    Feedback

Supply chain and distribution. They need to expand internationally.

  • I'm a big fan of oatmilk. Its the one I prefer most of all non-dairy milks, and naturally I've tried a lot of brands. This one is one of my favourites, it's creamy, frothy and not "itssosweetimgonnapuke" type of beverages.

  • Started buying Oatly in Berlin and continued buying it in Edinburgh and now London. Great taste and an incredible brand.

    Can't imagine any improvement.

  • PSA - im not an oat milk drinker. Everyone around me loves oatly. I must admit it’s really good compared to other oat options (remember i dont usually do oat milk though). I do think it tastes better in warm coffee than cold in my opinion. I do find it a bit heavy to use as a milk replacement in non coffee usage - i.e cereals. Also love the marketing campaigns they do .

    Feedback

More clear differentiation across the oatly options. Less bitter aftertaste in iced version.

  • The OG of oat milk. Oatly was the first and remains the best. It's the creamiest and has the best texture out of all the oat milks I have tried. It makes a milky coffee rich and delicious. Not only is Oatly the best oat milk in my opinion, but the best non-dairy milk overall to add to coffee.

I've heard that the rapseed oil is not great for health, so maybe clarifying that is not an issue would be awesome.

  • Great with cold brew and honey. Makes nice foam too!

    Feedback

A little sweet but nice oat flavors.

  • Love the taste of oat. Hint of sweetness.

    Feedback

Bit pricey compared to milk alternatives

  • This OAT milk is creamy and excellent for any barista elaborated coffee, shakes, and bowls, also is great with cereal

It is not easy to identify the different oat milk product varieties that Oatly offers, at the store I had a few choices but I did not quite understand the differences by initially looking at the packaging
