  • Creamy, luxurious mouthfeel
  • Reliable, barista-grade frothing
  • Smooth, neutral oat flavor
  • Versatile, beverage performance
  • Additive-heavy ingredient list
  • Seed oil, rapeseed inclusion
  • Occasional digestive discomfort
  • Sometimes overly sweet taste

Oatly impresses in reviews for café-worthy performance—its Barista Edition froths reliably and delivers a creamy, smooth texture that elevates coffee, matcha, and lattes—while dividing opinion over formulation. Fans praise the rich mouthfeel, neutral-to-oaty flavor, and versatility across baking, cereal, and smoothies; critics cite seed/rapeseed oils, gums/additives, sweetness, and occasional digestive upset as drawbacks. Overall, Oatly is considered a top-tasting, highly consistent oat milk for beverages, but less appealing to buyers prioritizing ultra‑clean ingredients.

  • It's fine. Of all the fake milks you can get at coffee shops in the west, Oatly is probably the best. It does not hold a candle to soy milks made in Hong Kong or Taiwan.

    Feedback

The product is what it is, but the marketing and messaging that it's just like cow's milk in a coffee drink is ridiculous. It's not milk, so don't pretend it tastes like cow's milk.

  • I’ve had a few different oatmilk brands before and while oatly has a rich and creamy oat taste, I criticize it for its ingredient list. It’s not terrible and I’ll drink it if it’s the only option available, but it’s not my first choice.

  • The best oat mylk for coffees and teas, first discovered in Hong Kong and so glad its available in North America now

    Feedback

Would like a sweetened version for coffee

  • The taste is not as great as other oat milk drinks. It’s a great widespread brand though

    Feedback

The taste can be off sometimes. Not always consistent

  • As a barista, Oatly was often easier for me to make latte art and good foam than dairy milk and always easier than almond, soy, or coconut.

  • Best non-dairy alternative for coffee, hands down. Does not cuddle like Soya milk. Keeps well and has a creamy taste.

  • Love the taste, hate all the additives. Also not a fan of the greenwashing and false “allergy friendly” marketing

  • Oat milk is my preferred dairy alternative, and Oatly was the first brand I ever tried, which made me fall in love with it. Tastes great in coffee, and I've even used it in cooking.

    Feedback

I wish the brand as a whole was more eco-friendly, but overall they have a great product! I'd love to see them branch out even more into other oat-based products.

  • I like the idea that this brand doesn’t try to emulate real milk, but offers a very delicious alternative. The milk taste great, it’s the only thing I get with my coffee. Especially for people who are lactose intolerant, this product is a great alternative.

    Feedback

I wish they offered it in different flavors, and low-calorie options.

  • I started using Oatly for my overnight oats and it's been the best milk alternative I've found. Other brands seem to leave a weird consistency with the oats but Oatly works out perfectly. I've been using it daily for about a year and would never go back to another brand.

  • It’s good but has too many ingredients

    Feedback

    Use less preservatives

  • Love the branding and personality of the brand.

    Feedback

Don't love the product itself. Has not great ingredients

  • Oatly was the first big brand of oat milk so it makes sense it has so much acclaim and is seen as “the oat milk.” However, it’s mid.

    Feedback

There are way too many ingredients in Oatly. They disguise it with all of the text along the box, but the ingredient list is far too long. Oatly also tastes a little “oaty” to me.

  • Drink it everyday! No other fairy substitute satisfies like oat milk - and oat it does it my favorite way. Love the barista blend especially for foaming!

  • Oatly was my go-to non dairy milk for a good long while. The consistency, flavor, and the way it blends in coffee tops any other non dairy milk I’ve tried, including other oat milks. The only reason I stopped using it is because I’ve been having some acid reflux issues and found out that oat milk is actually acid-forming, so I decided to switch to almond milk instead.

  • I really like using this for my morning coffee!

  • I love the taste and it goes well on my smoothie. It’s creamy and goes well in cobblers.

  • I think that Oatly has a pretty great taste. I really enjoy the packaging for Oatly as well.

    Feedback

I don't like all the extra ingredients Oatly puts into their products. I love the taste, but there are other oat milk that taste just as great without all the extra ingredients.

  • Oatily creamer was sold out for months during pandemic and it was a morning luxury that we enjoyed so much we got a box. I also love that their packaging is eco-friendly.

    Feedback

Unfortunately, Oatily seems to make me gain weight, so I keep away from it except occasionally, but I always prefer Oatily.
