Reviews mention

  • Plush cushioning comfort
  • Reliable arch-support structure
  • Durable construction longevity
  • Versatile, stylish colorways
  • Inconsistent sizing reliability
  • Narrow toe-box fit
  • Occasional material cracking
  • Problematic tongue design

New Balance earns strong reviews for comfort, support, and durability—many cite pain-free long walks and years of wear—yet aesthetics divide, sizing runs inconsistently narrow for some, and certain models show flaws (cracking leather, weak tongue elastic, cleat failures). Reviews of New Balance highlight standout lines like 550, 574, 1080 Fresh Foam, 990v6, and 327; buyers should match model to use, as lifestyle styles can feel tight or less cushioned for long distances while running lines excel for arch support and mileage.

  • Have the 997 in a suede Green I got back in May for my summer shoes. Easily the most comfy all day and became my most worn shoe all summer

  • I bought my first pair of New Balance trainers recently, and so far I’m very impressed. As a performer it’s extremely important to have good shoes and look after feet, so after I’ve had several different pairs of trainers (from different brands, at varying prices), I thought I’d try these. My friend (and fellow performer) recommended them, as she found them very comfortable, supportive and good to dance in, and I have to say my experience so far has matched hers. They’re comfy to wear, with insoles that are cushioned yet supportive. They’re also not too bulky or heavy in your feet, so you can stay light and on your toes. I like the grip of the soles and how they’re sturdy but still flexible that you can move and bend your feet. They are also very sleek and stylish, which is an added bonus. I’ve tried a number of trainers in the past, ranging from £20 to £70 in price, and I’ve always found they either ware out extremely quickly, or the quality lets them down. So while these trainers were a little more expensive at £100, so far the quality and durability has been reflected in the price. So for an extra £30, I’m really getting my moneys worth. Overall very satisfied with them so far, and glad to have found a balance between price and quality.

  • Although my 574s wore out a little faster than I would have liked, they're still one of the best and most comfortable sneakers I've ever owned. Excellent value for the money. I walked all over Canada, the USA, and Europe in New Balance 574s without any foot, knee, or back issues. Great product all around from a company that understands the mechanics of feet.

  • These are the only sneakers my partner wears. She loves the arch support and comfort. They tend to need to be replaced once a year with daily wear which is to be expected at their price point.

  • New Balance is the perfect performance shoes they are super comfortable. I just wish they were better looking shoes. lol

  • I’m on my feet all day for my job, plus I walk my dog a couple miles a day. My NB always keep my feet feeling great. The fit week, hold up to heavy wear, and always look good. Highly recommend!

  • 574’s are one of the comfiest shoes I’ve had! Love New Balance’s branding with athletes and artists.

  • I have had two pairs of New Balances that I wore daily, all day long, as well as during workouts, and they have lasted me over a decade and are still going strong. They are comfortable (which is important for me especially because of my flat feet) and stylish too. And yet while they aren't the cheapest brand of shoes you can buy, they are certainly not the most expensive either. My toddler also loves his "N Shoes", and we have consistently bought him New Balance shoes each time we needed a size up.
