  • Vivid, flavorful produce
  • Careful, protective packaging
  • Inconsistent ripeness quality
  • Smaller-than-expected portions
  • Unlabeled assortment confusion
  • Unreliable processing timelines

Miami Fruit wins passionate reviews for delivering rare, vividly flavorful tropical varieties—think sapodilla, black sapote, mamey, finger limes, and curated variety boxes—but the reviews also reveal serious drawbacks: inconsistent ripeness/quality, small quantities versus expectations, and poor communication or refunds. Overall, the brand can be extraordinary for discovering exotic fruit, yet buyers risk receiving bruised or delayed items and confusing, unlabeled assortments.

  • Amazing fruit, rare variety, customer service was great, will be ordering again

  • I ordered a fruit box approximately 2 and a half weeks ago. I paid 177 dollars for a large fruit box and shipping was 20 dollars. I live in Georgia so that is expensive shipping wise. I got it ordered and the box is a foot by a foot. I opened up the box and there were maybe 6-8 different fruits. I was expecting so much more since I paid almost 200 dollars for the fruit. I told them about this and she said that they charge by weight. Are you kidding me 8 pounds of fruit for 200 dollars. I could go to a farmers market and get this stuff for half if not quarter of the price. That is ridiculous. I watched several videos of people raving about the fruit but I should have come here first. I do not ever recommend. Also the largest fruit I had was my cacao pod which wasn’t even ripe. Buy it if you want but I’m never getting stuff from them again.

  • Horrible customer service. I ordered a small box of soursop. It’s really hard to get soursop in NY and the fruit came out very moldy and bad. I asked for a refund or store credit or for them to simply send me a new batch. They did not once care to get back to me. I have ordered for them several times and there’s been several times where one of the fruits from the batch was bad. This is the first time I’m asking for a refund and they won’t give it to me and gave me a bs excuse. Don’t order from here! Not worth it!!!

  • Horrible customer service - ignorance abounds. Why would they tell you to call in on a certain day to check inventories and then have a voicemail that says they only correspond via email. I think its because they would get too many calls blasting them for being disorganized and sloppy. Our first ridiculously expensive order arrived mushy, borderline overripe. I told my wife give them a second chance. Well we tried but they can’t give us a straight answer about anything. Shop elsewhere unless you enjoy being terribly frustrated after paying a small fortune for something that is not worth it. The chances of success with this company are extremely low, chances of failure extremely high.

  • Placed an order. They contacted me saying they do not ship to PO boxes. I kept explaining to them I don't have any other address to give. They kept insisting to give them another address besides my PO BOX. No matter how many times I emailed them, they could not get it through their heads that I don't have another address. So I asked for a refund. They would not give me a refund. I ended up having to file a dispute with PayPal to get my money back. Very rude, very unprofessional, very non-caring, very low comprehension people at this so-called business.

  • I subscribed to the fruit box large and its 147$ and they give you maybe 50$ worth of fruit. Yes it's got some unique and different ones but it's not really worth it. Most stores specifically me (wegmans) sells most of the fruit they sell larger in size and cheaper. They send spoiled fruit or brused. They send extra of the worst fruit so reduce the sending quantity of better fruits. For the price they should be sending you at least different fruits each time and not repeats in each box. I would suggest looking around unique stores near you before resort to ordering from them. It's meh. Their website is also biased and doesn't have a single low review and only put their fan reviews on.

  • UPDATE. September 22, 2023 Evidently Miami Fruit read this review. And after 3 years they have decided to refund my money. Yes, I was wrong, I did order bananas (how can you expect me to remember this after 3 years and no copy of the original order?) I had called them scammers in my email. So the person replying wrote, “how can you call us scammers if we are returning your money?” Well…..you had my money for 3 years and I do remember sending an email to inquire on the order and got no response, that’s why. So after telling me that they couldn’t refund my money, they did offer to send it thru PayPal. I got it 2 days ago. I wonder how many others have experienced this? ————————————————- ORIGINAL COMPLAINT I would give it a zero if I could. I ordered a box of fruit THREE YEARS AGO and still have not received anything. I paid $137. I forgot about it until a few days ago when they sent me an email to say they were shipping the fruit. I had ordered apples, they indicated they were sending bananas. I have emailed back and forth and still no resolution. They have stopped replying. I think they thought I was going to be a repeat customer? why else email me after 3 years. I see others giving it glowing reviews. wonder if those are really verified customers? others have complained about rotten fruit. So buyer beware.

  • I ordered guava bananas 3 years ago . It’s been three with no correspondence from Miami fruit no refund or anything. I’ve also ordered sour sap, which was expired and rotten. I will not buy from this company ever again.

  • I’m very unhappy for multiple reasons. 1) Extremely overpriced. I ordered the small overnight variety box paying an extra $50 for soursop, I learned you can get soursop for $2-$3 at fruit markets in Hawaii. (Soursop alone is $100-150 on their website sooooo make that make sense). I received 2 dragonfruit, 1 of which is not uncommon at all in the U.S. and I can get for $3 at my local grocery stores. #2 I didn’t get as many exotic fruits as I hoped. I received a lime, banana, common dragonfruit, and tamarillo (tomatoe) - that’s half my box. #3 I received bad mangosteen and the solution I was given was $6 refund. I don’t want $6 I want to try the fruit! Poor customer service and you know they make enough money to send one small fruit. #4 they don’t tell you what’s specifically in your box! I was on their website trying to guess what was what by picture. This was very hard, some of the items were very similar looking. They have seasonal guides (SG) online that say what’s in boxes that are sent out on certain days, but I didn’t know this until after I received my box, so half the fruits I got ended up going bad because I had no idea what I had & how to store them, so I ended up storing most of them improperly - very upsetting. Even when I discovered the seasonal guide it didn’t help with my banana. They don’t have specific bananas on the guide, so there’s no way of knowing when to eat your banana & what it’s supposed to look like ripe. It ended up spoiling. Poor communication - for the price we’re paying we should be getting SPECIFIC guides in every individual box. #5 they give you fruits you’d cook with. For e.g., I received tamarillo (similar to a tomatoe) and a type of lime. Remember I didn’t know what I had in my box when I cut these two fruits open, so when I cut into them I ended up having to wrap up half cut fruits I didn’t intend to cook with that day - extremely disappointing. But even so, if I knew the one was a tamarillo I probably wouldn’t have known it should be used as an ingredient or for cooking until after cutting it open and wasting it. For spending a big chunk of money, it’s not worth it. Poor customer service and communication
