Matcha Freak sells a range of matcha tea and baking products.

Our mission at Matcha Freak is to support small Japanese tea farmers through direct trade and fair pricing methodologies while growing the specialty Japanese tea market in America. We work with and import directly from a small tea production house in Ise, Japan Founded in 1945. This family owned and run facility is surrounded by 4,000 hectares of green tea estates and the factory is located at 300 meters above sea level, overlooking Ise Bay. By working directly with a producer who intentionally practices community oriented values alongside us, we hope to contribute to the sustainability of the tea market in this region of Japan and beyond.

Because we import directly, we are able to offer a price point that is accessible to audiences that may have viewed matcha as out of reach previously. We want to get new and old consumers really excited not only about matcha but about tea in general -- which is why we have decided to also make hojicha as part of our opening line (we call it the entryway drug to matcha or the coffee lovers green tea). Our fun and colorful branding is a reflection of how we see tea growing into a younger demographic who are curious about the specialty beverage space.

Matcha Freak Hojicha offers a unique, golden-light roasted tea experience. Family-made in Ise, Japan, this single-origin hojicha features a nutty, subtly sweet flavor profile distinct from traditional green teas. Perfect for lattes or enjoyed on its own, it presents a comforting, aromatic beverage. The preparation instructions on the package invite consumers to take a seat, take a sip and relax. A product weight of 100g allows consumers to stock up for later.
